Easter at LUSH

LUSH Easter 2015

The LUSH Easter 2015 collection is very festive with a mixture of old favorites and NEW inventions! Once this collection was online, I immediately ordered these products:

  • Pot O’ Gold Shower Jelly – a soothing and cleansing jelly! I am not a huge fan of shower jellies, but knew I had to try this one for its gold hue! Have you tried this jelly yet? What do you think?
  • Somewhere Over the Rainbow Soap – an insanely beautiful and vibrant rainbow! Uplifting scents and colors make this product the perfect pick me up. Have you seen this soap in store? Check out the entire rainbow now!
  • Bubblegrub Bubble Bar – sweet as can be! I just used this product and adored the sweet scents, orange tones, and bubbles! The only downfall… melted white chocolate eyes stuck to the bottom of my tub.
  • Ultraviolet Bubble Bar – a bubble bar the size of The Comforter! Cool shades of purple, blue, and green are mixed together with hints of violet and jasmine. I have not used this bubble bar yet, but look forward to violet bubbles to go along with my Violet Nights bath oil (a Cosmetics-To-Go classic).
  • Golden Egg Bath Bomb – a hybrid bath bomb and bath melt. This toffee scented creation is super, super sweet! It feels like you are taking a bath in liquid gold… with bio-degradable glitter and olive oil floating around. The only downfall about this returning product is the overwhelming amount of glitter. Your bath tub will be covered in gold for days!
  • Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb – my FAVORITE! I love Fluffy Egg! This candy bath with a pink hue is an incredible soak. The sweet scent also lingers on your skin for hours! Is this bath bomb also one of your favorites?
  • The Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb – a 3 in 1 bath bomb! Eggception is a returning bomb that comes in yellow and pink. I love this bath as it is very festive with a mini surprise in the middle!
  • Hoppity Poppity Bath Bomb – a fresh #spring bath! Earthy and minty tones make this bath bomb a perfect product to refresh your senses. Pop rocks are imbedded in this bunny to further create a relaxing environment of popping bubbles.

Bath Tray – You Can Do It!

Bath Tray

Do you like to read, work on your computer, or watch Netflix in the bath? I sure do! This handmade bath tray changed my life (Literally). I can finally relax and enjoy my bath! I do not have to tire out my arms by holding a book out of the water for 45 minutes or watch Netflix from across the bathroom and have to wear my foggy glasses.

I got this idea from Pinterest (who does not get ideas from there?). Measure two pieces of wood to fit the width of your bath tub, put them together, and then paint… Super easy! What is on my bath tray you might ask?

  • The Mum Reusable Bubble Bar – I purchased this honey-toffee bubble bar from last years Mother’s Day Collection at LUSH Cosmetics. Discover Bunch of Carrots for a similar experience from the Easter 2015 Collection.
  • Plumeria Bath Salts – a little Plumeria never hurt no one! Want more tropical flower scents in your mainland life? Check out KopaKauai handmade soaps on Etsy! I purchased the Sea Salt Soap in Plumeria (of course). I enjoy using it in the morning to wake me up and put a smile on my face!
  • Abra Bath Salts in Sleep Therapy – the perfect touch to a night time bath!
  • Hugo Bath Salts – The bath salts in the brown bag and the paper bag are from Hugo! These salts are all natural, have great scents, and sure creates a soothing bath!
  • Tidy Thyme Santa’s Breath Soy Candle – This mint chocolate soy candle is scrumptious! Even though it is a holiday item, all year-round it will sweeten your bathroom! Tidy Thyme also has great plant based cleaning products!

Birchbox Review – January 2015

I am not one to review my Birchbox. But with a new year, a new blog style, and a new batch of products… I decided it was now or next year.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service where five personalized beauty and lifestyle samples are delivered to your door. I have been receiving Birchbox since August of last year and enjoy each month’s goodies. It is a nice pick me up in the middle of the week to have samples of latest brand names and most talked about products. How do they personalize boxes when they send out millions? You answer specific questions about your hair color, beauty preferences, skin type, and so on. Do you think your Birchbox samples fit your beauty preferences?

This month’s theme was about starting fresh in 2015 with the tagline “Let’s Do This” printed across the box.

January 2015 Birchbox

I was a bit disappointed in my samples this month. Each month I got a lotion (a bit tired of having lotion pile up) and even got a sample  for curly hair (which my hair is pretty straight). Do not let this steer you away from Birchbox though, normally I love my samples and use them up before the next box comes.

  1. Balance Me – Wonder Eye Cream – light formula with no scent, but a bit difficult to rub in. I would give this product 3 out of 5 stars… Nothing big to rave about.
  2. Curly Hair Solutions – Curl Keeper Gel – water based formula that fends frizz and leaves curls intact. I do not have curly hair… So, 1 out of 5 stars for this product.
  3. Cynthia Rowley Beauty – Creamy Lip Stain – long-wear stain in shade Heartthrob. Eager to try out this red gloss… 4 out of 5 on the excitement level.
  4. Essential Elements – Wake Up Rosemary Body Lotion – light weight hydrator with a strong rosemary scent. The packaging is cute and unique… 3 out of 5 stars.
  5. Sumbody – Body Soap – this product smells so fresh since it is full of botanical oils and herbs. Pretty interested in trying out this soap so I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Porridge Soap Review

Hello all! Sorry for not posting yesterday. Tuesdays are my busy school days! It is another dreary day here today in New York! I have been using the LUSH Porridge Soap this winter. Here are some pictures of my Porridge soap slice in the packaging and out of the package:

IMG_4907IMG_4908

SKIN TYPE: This is great soap because it does not dry out my already dry and sensitive skin. I really enjoy how creamy the soap is. It is almost as creamy as Sultana of Soap without the exfoliating oatmeal.

SMELL: I love the smell of this soap. To me, this aroma is mixed with syrup and honey… it is very very sweet! But, not as sweet as the Honey I Washed The Kids soap from LUSH!

EXFOLIATION: This soap is filled with many oatmeal chunks. It is super super super exfoliating. It almost is a bit TOO scratchy. Although, I like using this soap because it exfoliates my dead skin and moisturizes in one!

INGREDIENTS: The ingredients in this soap are rapeseed oil, pinhead oatmeal, fresh organic orange juice, sweet orange oil and much more! Like all LUSH soaps, you can get a piece based on the price you want. This piece was around $10 and is a generous size since they last a while!

Here is a picture of me with the large chunk of the Porridge Soap at the Herald Square LUSH store located in NYC:

Lexington NYC LUSH Haul

So I am in a good mood today and decided it was time for my next LUSH haul post! I am a huge LUSHie (if you cannot already tell by now). I spend most of my money on LUSH products. I really do not buy any other products… except for maybe nail polish! But this is it. Plus, I have a goal to review every LUSH year round product and recent holiday products on this blog! So here is one of my most recent major LUSH hauls from LUSH Lexington in NYC (I got all of thee products when I went to the Spa, you can see that blog post here):

IMG_5308

  • King of Skin butter bar – I LOVE this product. This is actually a re-purchase for me. It is a shower must!
  • Sandstone soap – this is an awesome citrus exfoliating soap. I have already tried this product in the bath and have a new love.
  • Sikkim Girls Perfume – I have never tried one of LUSH’s Gorilla Perfumes. I thought it was about time! I got the smallest size in the Sikkim Girls scent. It also came in a really cute collectible jar. A review is on the way for this!
  • Demon in the Dark soap – I have never tried a full bar of this soap (only samples). I had to get a small sliver because it is retiring this year! Get it NOW if you like or want to try this product!
  • Tender is the Night massage bar – I have already done a review on this LUSH Valentines product. You can find that blog post here.
  • Eau Roma water toner – I just did a review about my Breath of Fresh Air toner. This is the next toner I decided to purchase from LUSH! Really excited to start using it.
  • Flying Fox shower gel – So this was an impulse… I recently just got into the LUSH shower gels. I just finished The Olive Branch (sad day)! But this is a great jasmine infused shower product! Cannot wait to review it!
  • Wise eye shadow – This is a product from the Emotional Brilliance line. Strangely, mine is not an eye shadow applicator but an eye liner one! And I love it… the LUSH sales lady talked me into it! I wear it quite often.
  • Aqua Mirabilis butter bar – This is very similar to the Buffy bar (which was my first LUSH product by the way). I like this… but it is supper nutty – you definitely have to like nuts to like this shower bar!
  • Lord Misrule bath bomb – I just had to get another one… I know this one was also in my last haul but I love it so much and it is retiring soon! I will be doing a review on this very soon!
  • Dream Time temple balm – The LUSH temple balms are only available at LUSH Spa locations. I was so happy to see this at the store! I got the Dreamtime scent which is very similar to the Dream Time bath melt. They also had Whoosh for the other scent.
  • Light Pink skin tint – This is a skin product from the Emotional Brilliance line. I actually am surprised that I cannot find this online at the LUSH USA store. I am in LOVE with this skin tint. I will do a review soon!

This was a super fun LUSH haul because I purchased many products which I normally would not try! Lots of newbies here! Let me know if you have tried any of these products?! What have you gotten in your recent LUSH haul?!

Mr.Punch Soap

For my second post today I would like to post about a LUSH holiday product! This one is called Mr.Punch soap! Unfortunately, it is not avaliable anymore because it was a limited edition holiday product. I am sure that it will be back though for next Christmas! How many of you have tried this soap?!

Here is an image of mine (I used it a few times before taking this picture):

IMG_4691

Positives:

  • Great scent – I love the dark-fruity scent of this soap. It has a great punch-y feel! The color is a beautiful deep purple with various chunks of soap pieces in it! I have some green, yellow and orange pieces on the top of mine! The big soap shape is a large punch bowl! It is pretty unique!
  • Decent lather – this soap actually lathers pretty well for LUSH’s soaps. It had a good amount of bubbles with a smoothing texture.
  • Real fruit – I could tell this product had actual fruit in it because a whole berry was logged into my soap! I was using it and suddenly a berry popped out!

Negatives:

  • Nothing Interesting – honestly there is not a lot to remember about this soap… it has a great aroma and lather but there is nothing extremely unique! I wish there was more to the soap! Maybe glitter or luster or something!

If you want to learn more about this soap and watch how it was made, you can visit a LUSH USA blog post here. This was a unique holiday soap but definitely not my absolute favorite! What was your favorite holiday soap?

Valentine’s LUSH Haul

Can anyone guess what this post is going to consist of?! Well it will include a haul, LUSH and Valentine’s goodies! A LUSH Valentine’s Haul! I ordered my valentine stuff in the mail since none of the stores in the U.S. were carrying the products yet (they are now though).

So this is the goodie box that came in the mail:

IMG_5144

I love the LUHS boxes. The tape is phenomenal and so personalized… it is great advertising for their Fighting Animal Testing campaign.

These are the products that were inside:

IMG_5151

  • Back for Breakfast shower gel – this is actually a part of the LUSH Retro collection… every time I order something online from LUSH I try to get something from the Retro collection! I am super excited to use this in my shower!
  • The Kiss lip gloss – what an awesome lip product for Valentines Day! It is super creamy and has a shimmer in it.
  • Prince Charming shower gel – if you cannot tell by now… LUSH shower gels are my favorite! This is a great fruit scent to spruce up your Valentines Day!
  • Neon Love soap – I am also in love with LUSH soap… this is another addition to my soap collection! I like the smell of this one (very similar to Prince Charming).
  • Love Locket bath bomb – this is HUGE! It is almost bigger than my hand. I cannot wait to try this in my next bath! I will need to use a roller pin or something like that to break it in half! I want to see what is inside.

I have already tried a majority of these products.. so I will be attempting to get all the reviews up before they are sold out in stores! I also went to the LUSH Spa yesterday in NYC and had a BLAST! If you are in the NYC area or in the Northeast check out their Facebook page. It is a must experience for all LUSHies out there!

Angel’s Delight Soap

How many of you out there love LOVE LOVE LUSH?! Probably most of you looking at this post huh… well I have a treat for you! One of the greatest soap reviews over one of the coolest LUSH holiday products, Angel’s Delight! This is such a beautiful soap… so beautiful that for the first time ever in one of my LUSH Soap posts, I will be showing a picture of the huge soap bar!

Here is the whole Angel’s Delight soap (photo credit from here aka – LUSH UK):

Here is the chunk I picked out (can anyone guess where it is from on the soap?!):

IMG_4642IMG_4643

Positives:

  • Awesome look – I really enjoy just looking at this soap… it is so so so beautiful! I am a huge fan of all the different colors and textures. First, you have the gold luster moon and inside the ring you have a variation of multi-colored shapes with pink and purple hints! So beautiful…
  • Cool smell – I also enjoy the aroma of this product. To me, it smells like Fruit Roll-Up gummies which remind me so much of my child hood! It is the perfect past time to have in your bath tub.
  • Glitter stars – I ADORE the glitter stars in this soap! It makes bathing ten times more fun! You can kind of see them a bit on the top of the soap in the picture to the right.

Negatives:

  • Little lather – Like I always comment on with most LUSH soap reviews, there is no lather. Jut a tad bit but I would prefer more! I like my soap to bubble up when I use it!

This is a phenomenal holiday LUSH soap! Definitely one of my all time favorite LUSH holiday product and LUSH product in general! I found a great video from LUSH Youtube that y’all can check out here about how they make this gorgeous soap! Unfortunately, this soap is only available around the holiday season but I have high hopes that they will bring it back this year because it has returned for two years now! Let me know if you have tried this soap!

NYC LUSH Haul

So since I am feeling a bit down today, I thought that it was time for a wonderful haul post! I went shopping at the LUSH in Herald Square, NYC about two weeks ago. I got a bunch of goodies! Some I have used and some I am still waiting to use!

Here is the haul:

IMG_4916

  • Blackberry bath bomb – I have not tried this bath ballistic in a while. It was actually one of the first bath bombs created by Cosmetics-To-Go that branched over to LUSH! It is a classic blackberry scent (which I adore) with a hidden message in the center! I cannot wait to review this bath bomb.
  • Porridge soap – I have never ever tried this soap! The sales lady helping me talked me into it! It does smell great and looks like it even has an exfoliating texture. I got a brand new slice from the huge bar!
  • Decisive lip color – I also went for a new lipstick in the Emotional Brilliance line. As you can tell in the picture, this one is super red but has a great shimmer to it! Surprisingly, I have been wearing it a bit!
  • Vanillary perfume – I had to purchase this… the smell is so comforting and perfect for the cold winter months! This is only my second LUSH perfume. Someday, I want to try all of them! Cannot wait to review this spray. I got it in the .3 oz since (spray stick).
  • Jungle solid conditioner – I just finished the Big solid conditioner in the shower yesterday! I wanted to repurchase it but decided to try Jungle first! I have not used it yet but looking forward to how it works!
  • T’eo solid deodorant – This is another new product for me! I have only tried the Coconut deodorant from LUSH (which I love). I like how this one is in a solid bar form which is super super easy to use (especially under the arms). I use this deodorant before I go to bed and love it! The scent is super fresh.
  • Sample time! – Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo is the sample I picked! This is the only liquid shampoo from LUSH that I have not tried… I already used it and was not sure I loved the smell or noticed anything special with my hair! But I might try it out again for sure.

I had a great experience shopping at the adorable LUSH store in Herald Square. This is my go-to LUSH store in NYC because it is super, super close to Penn Station! Only one block away I think… I loved this trip so much I took some pictures of the store and the lovely sales lady who was helping me. Let me know if you have ever shopped at this LUSH location in the heart of NYC:

Snow Globe Soap Review

So for my second post today, I wanted to talk about the LUSH holiday soap, Snow Globe! This is a super cool soap. I love everything about it. So time to review!

Here are some images of the soap:

IMG_4644IMG_4645IMG_4646

Positives:

  • Great aroma – I love the smell of this product. It is very citrus oriented. It awakes you!! I do not recommend this soap for a relaxing, night bath… it is maybe to awakening! So this soap makes for a great morning shower.
  • Cool design – I love the colors and design of this soap. The large shape of this soap is a huge snow globe that has chunks of “snow” in it! So from my pictures, you can kind of tell that I got the bottom of the globe with some pieces of white “snow.”

Negatives:

  • Awkward lather – This soap does have a really odd texture and lather. The blue part of the soap does not lather at all while the white chunks lather A LOT. I still wish the whole thing lathered a bit more… but I wish that with every post!

Snow Globe is an awesome winter soap. It is very different from Christmas scents or other holiday scents which makes it super unique! The smell is great and awakening while the design is seriously awesome. Let me know if you have tried this holiday soap!
