Easter at LUSH

LUSH Easter 2015

The LUSH Easter 2015 collection is very festive with a mixture of old favorites and NEW inventions! Once this collection was online, I immediately ordered these products:

  • Pot O’ Gold Shower Jelly – a soothing and cleansing jelly! I am not a huge fan of shower jellies, but knew I had to try this one for its gold hue! Have you tried this jelly yet? What do you think?
  • Somewhere Over the Rainbow Soap – an insanely beautiful and vibrant rainbow! Uplifting scents and colors make this product the perfect pick me up. Have you seen this soap in store? Check out the entire rainbow now!
  • Bubblegrub Bubble Bar – sweet as can be! I just used this product and adored the sweet scents, orange tones, and bubbles! The only downfall… melted white chocolate eyes stuck to the bottom of my tub.
  • Ultraviolet Bubble Bar – a bubble bar the size of The Comforter! Cool shades of purple, blue, and green are mixed together with hints of violet and jasmine. I have not used this bubble bar yet, but look forward to violet bubbles to go along with my Violet Nights bath oil (a Cosmetics-To-Go classic).
  • Golden Egg Bath Bomb – a hybrid bath bomb and bath melt. This toffee scented creation is super, super sweet! It feels like you are taking a bath in liquid gold… with bio-degradable glitter and olive oil floating around. The only downfall about this returning product is the overwhelming amount of glitter. Your bath tub will be covered in gold for days!
  • Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb – my FAVORITE! I love Fluffy Egg! This candy bath with a pink hue is an incredible soak. The sweet scent also lingers on your skin for hours! Is this bath bomb also one of your favorites?
  • The Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb – a 3 in 1 bath bomb! Eggception is a returning bomb that comes in yellow and pink. I love this bath as it is very festive with a mini surprise in the middle!
  • Hoppity Poppity Bath Bomb – a fresh #spring bath! Earthy and minty tones make this bath bomb a perfect product to refresh your senses. Pop rocks are imbedded in this bunny to further create a relaxing environment of popping bubbles.

Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

I decided to take a break from reviewing facial moisturizers! I just have one more left, Skin Drink! That will probably be my next post though. Today I wanted to venture to a LUSH shower jelly. Not gel everyone, a JELLY! Here are two pictures of my Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly clear pot:

TEXTURE: This shower jelly feels exactly like a jelly. It is very slippery, smooth and is a solid. I love the idea of this jelly since it is pretty unique and I have never seen any other beauty company create anything like it! I purchased the large 8.5 oz. pot and I have had it FOREVER!

AROMA: The reason why I bought such a large size of this jelly was for the smell. It is one of my all time favorite LUSH aromas! It smells very very sweet with a hint of cherries. For some reason, it reminds me of my childhood! I must of had a lip gloss that smelled similar to this!

USE: So many of you might be thinking how one would use this in a shower. Personally, I take out a decent chunk of the jelly and then blend it in my wash cloth. My sister uses it a completely different way. She takes the entire jelly out of the pot and then just spreads that on her body. I think I am way to chicken to do that afraid I will loose some of the product!  I have also heard of people putting this jelly in the freezer and then using it to cool off in the summer time! I will for sure need to check that out this summer.

INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients in this jelly are cherry infusion, coconut infusion, cassis absolute, cypress oil and a lot more! The cherry and coconut smells are definitely the strongest.

FUN FACT: The shower jellies were introduced for LUSH’s 10th Anniversary in 2005. They have had a bunch around different times. The three available online right now are Whoosh, Sweetie Pie and a retro one, Party On. I have also seen some limited edition, retro ones come out around Halloween (I think one is called Ghost?). I found a great LUSH blog post that talks about this which you can find here.

Have you tried any of the LUSH shower jellies yet?! How do you use them?!

Samples On Samples

For those of you who have never been to a LUSH store or ordered products online, they give you many many samples! Sometimes you can pick the sample while other times they already have pre-made samples. Today, I will show two examples of samples that I got from some of my latest LUSH hauls!

Example #1: These samples were actually given to me. I did not pick the products to try. Since the marker wore off, two of the samples were Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner and one sample was Its Raining Men shower gel.

  • I actually am a huge fan of the conditioner and have one of the 16.9 oz. bottles. I highly suggest Happy Happy Joy Joy to anyone who is a fan of floral aromas.
  • For Its Raining Men, I have never tried it! I did enjoy the shower gel but it was a little to sweet for me. If you are a lover of LUSH’s Honey I Wash The Kids Soap, then this is the perfect shower gel for you!

Example #2: For these samples, I told them what I wanted to try out.

  • As you can tell, the first product I tried was Whoosh shower jelly. I loved it! I have a big pot of the Sweetie Pie shower jelly but I think my next purchase will have to be Whoosh! It is very minty and fresh. I have heard that it is great to freeze and use in the shower over the summer.
  • The other sample is Curly Wurly hair shampoo. I am a huge fan of the smell and texture of the shampoo (coconut lover right here) but, it was not for me. I felt like it did not do the job to clean my hair. Also, I think this product was made for people with really curly or frizzy hair.
  • The final sample is Turkish Delight shower smoothie. I actually really enjoyed using this shower smoothie and would recommend it to anyone. But be warned… it is a more expensive shower smoothie from LUSH.

Let me know what samples you have been trying and which ones you would recommend for my next LUSH purchase!
