LUSH Shower Empties

So I know this post is a bit late for me, but I had to post on this snowy Saturday here in New York! Some good news is that I have TWO more hauls coming up… I have already gone a little LUSH crazy this year (surprise, surprise). But today I wanted to share my shower empties from 2013!

Here is the empty collection:

So from left to right we have…

  • Rehab shampoo – this stuff is God sent. The smell is very citrus and awakening. I love how it actually takes my dry, winter hair to “rehab.” Rehab has been a favorite of mine. I actually have owned one 16.9 oz. and one 8.4 oz. I have not repurchased this one in a while!
  • American Cream conditioner – this is another God sent product. I love love the smell of this conditioner and actually repurchased it recently! So I have a fresh bottle of the strawberry and cream goodness in my shower! At first, I was not a fan of the product but it grew on me and after I repurchased it, I seriously loved it even more!
  • Fair Trade Honey shampoo – this is a great hair product from LUSH. It is a super, super think shampoo which makes it a bit different from other hair care products from LUSH. If you enjoy honey, this shampoo is for you! I have not yet repurchased this one.
  • Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner – I love the smell of this! It feels like your head is growing into a flower garden! I used this tonight and I cannot stop smelling my lovely hair! The product is soooo good, they named it twice! I highly recommend this conditioner for floral enthusiasts. I have owned the 8.4 oz. bottle and recently purchased the large 16.9 oz. bottle.

So those are my shower empties! I love to see what products people are using up because that means they are GOOD! Especially LUSH ones! I want to see what LUSH products everyone else is using up! Share and comment below!

Large LUSH Hair Products

I hope everyone is having a good Monday! It is my last week of school and next week is finals week, how fun! I will be working hard. But as always, it is very nice to take a break and write about something I love, LUSH!

Recently, I had finished my two large, 16.9 oz. LUSH shampoo and conditioner bottles. Pictured bellow:

I got these bottles about a year ago and I just finished them. They last a very very long time!  Before I ordered the large bottles, I had these products in the smaller bottles.

Rehab shampoo:

  • Great for damaged hair
  • Full of nutritious ingredients
  • Highlight product: fresh pineapple juice
  • 16.9 oz. bottle- $39.95

I highly suggest this hair product for anyone with damaged hair from heat, color, etc. It is a great rejuvenating product to bring your hair and scalp back to life!

Veganese conditioner:

  • Vegan hair product
  • Good for fine hair
  • Highlight product: rosemary infusion
  • 16.9 oz. bottle- $32.95

I love this conditioner. It has a great smell and texture. It is one of LUSH’s middle ground conditioners (between watery and very thick).

For me, it was a great purchase. Even though both of the products are in the 30-40 dollar range, it is well worth it! I suggest getting your favorite LUSH hair products in the large container from LUSH!

Tata for now!

No Drought Review

IMG_3760

A popular product that has arose this year is dry shampoo. I am sure many of you bloggers have a favorite. For example, the infamous Pssst! spray dry shampoo or the over used Tresemme dry shampoo spray. But of course, my used dry shampoo that could last for a million years, is the LUSH No Drought dry shampoo.

This product is contained in a bottle (just like all other dusting powders and deodorants from LUSH). I actually own the larger 4.4 oz. container. But I do believe they sell them in the smaller/trial size like containers. This is a product you will use weekly if you let your hair  rest from the shower a few days a week.

Positives:

  • It smells fantastic (very citrus) – the featured ingredient is citrus
  • It refreshes your hair! – absorbs all the oils

Negatives:

  • It is awkward to get out and put on your hair…
  • It leaves a white residue

Overall, I believe that this product is very very very useful. Even though there are some negatives, I think they are minimal compared to the overall result! To put this product in my hair I dab it all over my problem areas (normally top of head) and then massage it into my scalp, leave to absorb for a few minutes and then comb out. The results are phenomenal!

Tata for now! (by the way, sorry for no daily post yesterday, I was Lush-ing it up in NYC! Haul coming very very very soon!)

Samples On Samples

For those of you who have never been to a LUSH store or ordered products online, they give you many many samples! Sometimes you can pick the sample while other times they already have pre-made samples. Today, I will show two examples of samples that I got from some of my latest LUSH hauls!

Example #1: These samples were actually given to me. I did not pick the products to try. Since the marker wore off, two of the samples were Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner and one sample was Its Raining Men shower gel.

  • I actually am a huge fan of the conditioner and have one of the 16.9 oz. bottles. I highly suggest Happy Happy Joy Joy to anyone who is a fan of floral aromas.
  • For Its Raining Men, I have never tried it! I did enjoy the shower gel but it was a little to sweet for me. If you are a lover of LUSH’s Honey I Wash The Kids Soap, then this is the perfect shower gel for you!

Example #2: For these samples, I told them what I wanted to try out.

  • As you can tell, the first product I tried was Whoosh shower jelly. I loved it! I have a big pot of the Sweetie Pie shower jelly but I think my next purchase will have to be Whoosh! It is very minty and fresh. I have heard that it is great to freeze and use in the shower over the summer.
  • The other sample is Curly Wurly hair shampoo. I am a huge fan of the smell and texture of the shampoo (coconut lover right here) but, it was not for me. I felt like it did not do the job to clean my hair. Also, I think this product was made for people with really curly or frizzy hair.
  • The final sample is Turkish Delight shower smoothie. I actually really enjoyed using this shower smoothie and would recommend it to anyone. But be warned… it is a more expensive shower smoothie from LUSH.

Let me know what samples you have been trying and which ones you would recommend for my next LUSH purchase!

LUSH Haul

Since it seems a lot of my followers love haul posts, here are some recent LUSH purchases this past month.

I decided to splurge and take a chance to try some of the Retro products. The Retro and non- Retro products that I purchased included…

  • Rose Jam shower gel (now a part of the Christmas collection)
  • Ibiza Party hair shampoo
  • Gumback Express shower smoothie
  • In The Nude bath melt
  • Schnuggle body butter
  • Let The Good Times Roll (non-retro, can get in stores)
  • sample- Sea Vegetable soap

I have tried all of the products. My favorite and most used would be the Rose Jam shower gel (smells exactly like the Rose Jam bubble bar) and the Schnuggle body butter.  Schnuggle is phenomenal because it is used outside of the shower and since I am not a huge lotion fan, I use it almost daily. It is similar to other body butter or massage bars but the nice thing about Schnuggle is that it leaves your skin moist but not sticky like other lotions do.

Ibiza Party is also a pretty good shampoo. Originally, I purchased it because LUSH claimed it “helps with de-tangeling” (which is totally false). But another reason I purchased it is because it helps with dry scalp and is a great combination to the scalp treatment from LUSH, Superbalm.

Gumback Express is an interesting product. it drew me in because I am a lover of almond and banana items, which are the main two ingredients in this one of a kind shower smoothie. Even though the smell is a tad bit funky, I enjoy using this at least once a week to exfoliate. The almond chunks really do the job well.

Let The Good Times Roll is one of my all time favorite products from LUSH because it smells phenomenal and the holiday season is quickly approaching. I highly recommend this facial cleanser for anyone who loves sweet smells (or likes eating graham crackers). It is not harsh on the skin so I believe that it will work nicely for all skin types.

Latest LUSH Haul

I recently went to LUSH to stock up on some of my favorites! I went to the LUSH store in Danbury, Connecticut. It was an awesome store and had a great interior design. But most importantly, the customer service was incredible. I had two awesome ladies who spent almost an hour with me deciding what products should join my collection and would be the best for my body.

Here is the link to the FB page for the Danbury Mall store: https://www.facebook.com/LUSHDanbury

I ended up getting a lot of new products and even re-purchasing some!

My LUSH Top 5

LUSH recently came out with their Top 25 products. I found this information quite interesting since I am a die hard “LUSHie” and was curious to see if my favorite products were on the list. Some of the products actually did surprise me and on the other hand, I thought that: of course those products are included in the Top 25!

Here is the Top 25 List:  http://www.lushusa.com/Top-25-Best-Sellers/top25bestsellers,en_US,sc.html?gclid=CK3Z6NTUsroCFYSd4AodIz8AYw

I was a bit disappointed that they did not include the order of popularity in the Top 25. It would have been very interesting and beneficial to see the “number one” product of LUSH. If I had to pick a “number one” product out of this category, it would be a tie between Angles on Bare Skin and Godiva. I like Angles on Bare Skin because it is my daily cleanser. It helps to hydrate my face and balance out the oil. I absolutely love Godiva because of the jasmine smell. It is probably one of my favorite all time smells of LUSH.

Although this list includes some great products from LUSH, there are a few surprising products on this list that I believe are too unique for the daily consumer and therefore, make me question the list! For example, the solid shampoo bar, NEW!, is very unusual because of its strong cinnamon aroma. I actually have used this product and although it does wonders for your scalp, it does make your hair smell very fall like!

To honor the LUSH Top 25 product list, I thought that I would create my own Top 5 product list. Here it is…!

  1. Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb- This is by far my favorite bath bomb because of the smell and vibrant color. The color of this bath bomb is purple and gold, when it is used in the tub it turns the water a fuchsia color with gold glitter. The smell of this product is also phenomenal. A LUSH sales representative once told me that the LUSH factories in Canada smell exactly like this product and that LUSHies consider it the traditional scent.
  2. Vanishing Cream Moisturizer- This is my favorite moisturizer because of the results. It is light and airy, when I put it on my face I feel like nothing is on there. Also, the scent is very fresh and unique. This is by far one of the best face products compounded by LUSH.
  3. Ultrabalm- This product is a life savior. It helps to heal and hydrate dry skin. I use it everywhere, on my lips, ears, arms and even elbows. If there was one LUSH product I would bring to a deserted island it would be this one!
  4. Daddy-O Hair Shampoo- This shampoo is a need for blondes. The shampoo is a rich purple and smells amazing. It is supposed to help lighten and hydrate blonde locks and from personal experience, it does exactly that!
  5. Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar- This product was in the original Top 25 LUSH products and it is all because of the smell. I am a huge fan of jasmine and this is definitely one of the spot light products from LUSH that makes your hair smell like a flower garden after use.
