Hydro Boost Water Gel Review

This week calls for two blog posts (since I missed posting last week)! I decided to finally publish my review of the media-loved + cherished Neutrogena Hydro Boost! This water-based, oil-free moisturizer transforms dry skin into a plump, hydrated complexion. It is also non-comedogenic meaning the formula will not back-up pores and contains hyaluronic acid that repairs damaged skin cells. I was a bit hesitant to purchase a drug-store moisturizer for around $20… it was a risk (but well worth-it)!

I purchased this product in the morning before work after seeing positive reviews upon loving reviews. I was having a skin emergency: dryness, redness, and tightness. My normal moisturizer was not cutting it, I needed an extra BOOST (get it?).

When applying to my face, I immediately noticed the fresh scent and spongey-blue cream. The formula soaks into the skin well, hydrating it quickly! My skin thanked me because within an hour, the blotches dissipated and redness disappeared. I was left with a natural glow that paired well with my natural makeup!

Have you tried this product? Do you think it lives up to all of the hype?

Frog Prince + Mario Badescu

I cannot resist a much needed Ulta visit between my classes (there is one about 5 minutes from Marist)… My most recent purchases include Frog Prince from Lipstick Queen and the Mario Badescu Hydro Moisturizer with Vitamin C, along with an it’s a 10 sample.

After seeing much social media about Frog Prince, I was ready to jump in head first to get my hands on the magical GREEN lipstick! Five stars for this product – super hydrating, lasts a few hours, adorable packaging, and turns my lips a natural, berry shade! In fact, I am pretty sure my sister just stole it for her 18-day Europe adventure!

With only trying the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, I did not know what to expect for this moisturizer… One reason I bought it was for the travel friendly size and hydration claims. I do not notice anything significant after using this product. Just a simple moisturizer for dry skin! I prefer the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer (review coming very soon)!!

Skin’s Shangri La Moisturizer

Hello all! I am sorry for not posting yesterday… Tuesdays are my super busy school days! To continue with the facial cleansers theme, I wanted to review one of my favorite moisturizers from LUSH, Skin’s Shangri La! What a cool name huh?! Here are pictures of my pot:

IMG_4842IMG_4843

SKIN TYPE: This is a great moisturizer for dry skin. I use it almost daily and it works wonders for me! According to LUSH, this moisturizer is best for “mature faces.” I am not sure what they mean by mature… but this moisturizer does work well on my dry face!

SMELL: I love the smell of this moisturizer. It is very sweet compared to other LUSH creams. To me, it smells like vanilla bean! Hahah very specific, I know!

TEXTURE: This is a very very very heavy moisturizer! It is also pretty thick. But, do not let this thickness discourage you! I hate oozy-gooey thickness all over my face. It does not feel like that at all! It is just a little more luxurious than the lighter LUSH moisturizers!

FRESH INGREDIENTS: Like every post and all LUSH products, here are some of the fresh ingredients in this moisturizer: fresh wheatgrass, cold pressed almond oil, Queen of Hungary water, cold pressed jojoba oil and much much more!

This is actually my second pot! I wanted to show you my first pot of this moisturizer because the color is very different! It is very pink toned compared to my pot above. Here was my second pot of Skin’s Shangri La:

Have you tried this moisturizer yet?!

Light LUSH Facial Moisturizers

Hello all! Another busy day here trying to get my room all together plus an abundant about of homework! Today, I wanted to talk about two of my favorite LUSH facial moisturizers. These two are both super light and really, really work wonders! Here is the first moisturizer, Vanishing Cream:

IMG_3811

This is LUSH’s super light moisturizer for oily and combination skin types. I have pretty dry skin and this moisturizer does a great job eliminating oil from my t-zones. It does not irritate my dry skin at all. This is about my fourth pot of this stuff… It is my favorite moisturizer for the summer! Here are the fresh ingredients in this product: witch hazel, lavender and grape seed oil! I am sure there is a lot more in this cream but these are the main/featured ingredients. The smell is also very mellow compared to other LUSH moisturizers.

Here is the second light moisturizer from LUSH, Celestial:

IMG_3813

Unlike Vanishing Cream, this one is made for dry, sensitive skin types. I really like using this moisturizer. This is my first pot of this facial cream so I am not sure how well the long term effects are. Although, I really enjoy how light and airy this feels once you put it on! It is really a great daily moisturizer. Here are some of the featured ingredients in this product: vanilla water, almond milk and orchid extract! This moisturizer does not have a super strong smell at all. It smells like how it feels!

Have you tried any of these moisturizers?! What is your favorite summer cream?! As you can probably tell, I am so ready for summer and done with this snowy/freezing weather!

Gorgeous Facial Moisturizer

It has been a very long day for me already… I am exhausted and it is only 5 o’clock! I moved my whole bedroom to another room in my house which is much more spacious. I am excited to finally be in this room! So I have tried almost every LUSH facial cleanser… since LUSH is celebrating their Fresh Cleansers this season, I thought it was about time that I review all of my LUSH face related products. So I wanted to venture on into the land of facial moisturizers! An important necessity. First, I want to review Gorgeous:

IMG_3958

AROMA: This is definitely the most fragrant LUSH moisturizer. It is very floral and sweet. I adore the smell because of how different it is from the other facial moisturizers.

TEXTURE: This is also a nice facial cream because it is in between being super light and super heavy. It is the perfect texture. It feels awesome on the skin and makes it very fresh but does not feel like you just rubbed a wad of lotion on your face. It is also super hydrating and refreshing.

SKIN TYPE: Another great thing about this product is that it works miracles on my skin. It brightens up my dry, winter skin and really lets my skin glow! I enjoy using this moisturizer! It is for sure a luxurious treat. I think it will do well on all skin types!

INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients in this LUSH product are: orange blossom honey water, organic extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed evening primrose oil, cold pressed avocado oil, coconut oil and so so so much more! I have never seen this many types of oils in a LUSH product!

PRICE: This is probably the most priciest product LUSH offers. It is around $90.00! I know… super expensive for a facial moisturizer. I splurged when I purchased this one. I actually tried a few samples of it before buying the container! If you are willing to spend the money, then I believe the product is for sure worth it!

Now here is a facial moisturizer from LUSH that I have not tried yet. I think it is made for very oily skin (which is nothing like my face)! Here is Enzymion from the LUSH Facebook Page:

Full Of Grace

Hallo all! To continue with the cleansers/face products, I wanted to do a product review for the Full of Grace serum bar! I love this thing… Mine lasts a while because I only use it before a mask. It really hydrates and sets the skin for any type of mask. Here is my bar:

IMG_3819IMG_3820

SKIN TYPE: This product is super gentle and comforting. I think it would go well with any skin type since it does nothing but moisturize! I have dry and sensitive skin. Full of Grace works miracles on me!

SMELL: This product also has a pretty soft smell. To me, it has a soft lavender smell that has a floral perfume punch to it! I think LUSH says that this product has many butters, chamomile and mushroom! But it is a lovely sweet smell. Nothing to over powering at all!

TEXTURE: This serum works exactly like a massage bar. You just rub it on your face or hands and then it melts down and turns into an oily texture. Full of Grace is nice because it is no to oily at all! You can feel it on your skin after you use it though! It is light and very moisturizing.

FRESH INGREDIENTS: Like every LUSH product, Full or Grace has many many fresh ingredients. There are murumuru butter, chamomile blue oil, organic almond oil, fresh portobello mushrooms, fresh rose infusion and so much more! The ingredient list for this product is jam packed with lots and lots of amazing butters and oils.

NO PACKAGING: I also love how this bar has zero packaging like some LUSH products. It is wonderful to just pull this out from my cabinet and start using it immediately! Also, less waste the better! Full of Grace is also preservative free and Vegan! Two pluses!

I suggest this serum for anyone who uses any type of face mask often! It helps moisturize your skin while the mask is on and prevents it from dehydration! This serum bar is available all year round from LUSH online and in stores. Have you tried Full or Grace?!

Make-Up Remover Cleanser Products from LUSH

Hello all! To continue with the beautiful “Fresh Cleansers for Beautiful Bodies” era at LUSH… I thought it would only fit to do a duo review on two of my favorite make-up remover products from them! The two I am going to talk about are 9 To 5 and then Ultrabland! These are both considered cleansers at LUSH but for me… they are more make-up removers than my daily cleanse! Lets get started! Here is 9 To 5:

IMG_3827

This is a very creamy cleanser! I put mine on a cotton pad and then rub it over my eyes and the rest of my face! It does a PHENOMENAL job removing all make up pieces… even the sometimes hard to get liner areas! This is the only liquid cleanser LUSH sells. Originally, it was called “Orchid Oil Cleanser” because the ingredients in it are fresh dove orchid extract, almond oil and flower absolute! It is the perfect product to end a rough, long day because it soothes the skin and removes any grit! I suggest this for anyone who is a fan of liquid, oil cleansers! It is a must for me! And like most LUSH products, a little goes a LOOOOONG way!

Here is the other make-up remover cleanser, Ultrabland:

IMG_3814IMG_3815

I have had this product FOREVER. This one definitely goes a long way! I do not use this one as much as I use 9 To 5 because I am not the biggest fan of how oily it feels on my face. But… it is a huge cult product from LUSH! Many people love it… I guess you have to have the taste for it! The ingredients in this cleanser are many essential oils, iris flower extract, honey and beeswax. I think it is like 20% rose oil! So yes, this contributes to all the “oily-ness.” It can be used as a cleanser or a make up remover – I use mine as a make up remover about once a week! I have heard of people doing the “Ultraband Cleanse” which means that they just use this product on their face for a few months! It supposedly works miracles for acne prone skin!

Have you tried any of these two make-up remover/cleansers?! Share your thoughts below in the comments! Ohh and here was my balcony a few days ago… and now it even has more snow on it! Stay safe this winter y’all!

Feeling Younger Skin Tint

How many of y’all have tried any products from the Emotional Brilliance line?! Well I have really gotten into trying all the different liquid lipsticks, eye products and skin tints. Feeling Younger Skin Tint is a creamy, shiny tint that you can put any where on your face as a highlight! It adds lots of shimmer and helps to brighten your face.

Here are some pictures of my Feeling Younger:

IMG_4137IMG_4138IMG_4139

SHIMMER: This is a fabulous highlighter for all skin types. I use it around my eyebrows and under my eyes. I do not use it everyday… but I have started to use it a lot more in this snow apocalypse in New York! But it is great because the shimmer/luster does not stick out like a sore thumb. It mixes really well into your skin and brightens it!

VEGAN: This product is VEGAN! This probably makes all you Vegan lovers happy! I am shocked that makeup products can be Vegan now… I just started a gluten-free diet so I can feel some of the pain to find Vegan items! This skin tint and the Charisma skin color are the only Vegan ones in the Emotional Brilliance Skin line.

INGREDIENTS: Of course, all LUSH products have the freshest ingredients! Feeling Younger has Orange Flower Water, Oatmeal Decoction, Water, Cocoa Butter and Jojoba Oil. Remember, if you are wondering about any of the LUSH ingredients you can look them up in the LUSHopedia! It is a great dictionary filled with all the LUSH ingredients and their backgrounds (where they buy them, are they vegan, who makes it, what products they are in, etc.)

CAKEY: The only down side of Feeling Younger for me is that it is super “cakey” sometimes on my face… If you apply moisturizer, foundation and then this skin tint it does not work out well! According to LUSH, you should put on your moisturizer, Feeling Younger and then any other color supplements!

Overall, I really enjoy this skin tint! It was one of my first purchases from the Emotional Brilliance line! I love that I can use it anywhere on my face to brighten up my day! I suggest using this skin tint with any of the LUSH moisturizers/color supplements! This product is $18.95 and lasts forever! A little goes a long long way!

Have you tried any of the skin products from the Emotional Brilliance line?!

Mohegan Sun LUSH Haul

How many of you bloggers have ever been to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut?! Well it is a completely different world there. I went with my mom to a Luke Bryan concert there and had a BLAST! I even went shopping at LUSH after the concert… we walked out of the venue at 11:35 right to the LUSH entrance… and it was OPEN! I was baffled! Shopping at LUSH at midnight?! It was a dream come true. I dragged my mom into the store and got these goodies:

IMG_5143

  • Chocolate Whipstick lip balm – this stuff is AMAZING. Definitely one of my favorite LUSH products. Review to come very soon!
  • Skin Drink moisturizer – I have been looking for this product forever… they are always sold out in NYC. Excited to try this on my dry face!
  • Perspective lip stick – this is a great color. I have been wearing it daily since I purchased it! This liquid lip stick is a part of the Emotional Brilliance line.
  • Figs and Leaves soap – my goal is to try all of the year round LUSH soaps. I have not yet tried this one yet but it smells great!
  • Dragon’s Egg bath bomb – I have not purchased this bath bomb in a while! Really excited to do a review on this one!
  • Lord of Misrule bath bomb – this is an all time favorite of mine… I got this around Halloween and loved it so much I had to repurchase! Will definitely be doing a review on this before they are sold out! Remember, this bath bomb is only limited edition!
  • SMAPLE – Handy Gurugu hand cream – I am not a big hand cream person so I decided to sample this one before I buy the large pot if I like it!

So this was an awesome way to end an already great concert and day! I love LUSH and anytime I see one I have to go in and meet the sales associates and talk LUSH! Here is the beautiful store in the middle of the bustling casino with my mom in front and the lovely ladies who helped me out (sorry if the pictures are a bit blurry – my camera lens was dirty!):

And… for those of you who are Luke Bryan fans… he threw a phenomenal concert! One of the best I have ever ever seen! Check him out! He really knew how to get a crowd excited:

LUSH Style Red Lips

With Valentine’s Day coming up, I think it is appropriate to do a post about my recent Emotional Brilliance purchase, Decisive! Emotional Brilliance is the makeup line from LUSH that has lip, eye and skin products. I love this line. I have a couple of items from it and every time I purchase something new, I LOVE the line even more.

Here are some images of my Decisive:

IMG_4904IMG_4905IMG_4906IMG_4987

COLOR: this is a beautiful red shade. LUSH has a few different reds. According to LUSH this one is, “pin-up, vintage cherry red that is bold and vivid in color.” I think this is a great description because it is a bold red but also has a light shimmer to it! This color also goes well with my hair and skin tone! It is not to to TO red but more of a blue-ish red.

WEAR: the liquid lip stick lasts a long long long time. If you do not apply any balm before hand then it is almost like a lip tint! I always apply balm before hand because it makes the lip color more water-y and not to strong. LUSH suggests Ultrabalm (which is my staple LUSH product).

TASTE: this product has zero taste… there is nothing sickening or scrumptious in the lip color once applied! I would just watch out for your teeth. My lip color does spread and get onto my front teeth. If you are planning to wear this color all day, keep checking your teeth!

FRESH INGREDIENTS: since it is from LUSH of course it is cruelty free and composed of many fresh ingredients! The base for the whole Emotional Brilliance line is the balm, Ultrabalm (linked above). The fresh ingredients present in Decisive are: Jojoba Oil, Candelilla Wax and Rose Wax.

Have you used any lip colors from Emotional Brilliance?!
