Wiccy Magic Muscles – LUSH Review

Hello all! It has been an interesting week so far. Lots of school work and other end of year events. I thought that it would be best to talk about one of my latest massage bar purchases since I have been using it after my work outs this month! So I am going to introduce to you… The Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar!!

As usual, I got this bar because of its “healing” and “soothing” qualities. According to LUSH, this is a spicy bar for sore muscles (it sure is spicy).

Here are some pictures of mine:

Positives:

  • Massage worthy: very moisturizing
  • Great for sore muscles
  • Aduki beans (red dots) make for a great massage
  • Looks adorable in the LUSH tin
  • Lasts a while

Negatives:

  • VERY strong aroma
  • Little oily: use a dusting powder after use

Overall I enjoy this massage bar. I think that the spicy smell of cinnamon and peppermint make it unique. Plus, the aduki beans add a unique edge to the product. I mainly use this product after I work out or ski. It is great for sore leg and ab muscles.

Also, if you have never purchased the LUSH oval tin, it is a great $3 well spent (or however much it is). It protects your massage bars from the scary outside world and also if it does melt, at least it will still be in an oval shape!

BOTTOM LINE: If you enjoy massages and have sore muscles frequently, this is the bar for you! it actually does a great job soothing muscles. But be warned, the smell is very strong and takes some time to get used too!

I hope this helps when thinking about LUSH massage bars! Let me know what massage bars you have or want to try! Tata for now!

Strawberries and Cream Massage Duo

When I went to the LUSH in the Danbury Connecticut mall, I was blown away at all the different smells and textures of the massage bars. Surprisingly, one of my first purchases from LUSH was the Shimmy Shimmy glitter massage bar. But since that first purchase, I have been massage bar non-existent. So I decided it was time.

The saleswomen in the store at Danbury was phenomenal. We raved for hours on end about all of our favorite LUSH products. She even asked me what LUSH product I would take to a desert island if I could only take one? My answer: Vanishing Cream.

But back to this massage duo. After smelling all of the options, I decided to go for this duo:

  1. Strawberry Feel Forever massage bar- which is a “creamy strawberry massage bar” with the featured ingredient of strawberries (duh). Here is the link to more info about the bar: http://www.lushusa.com/Strawberry-Feels-Forever/02883,en_US,pd.html#start=6
  2. Vanilla Puff dusting powder- which is a “luxurious, indulgent vanilla jasmine dusting powder” with the features ingredient of vanilla absolute (again, duh). Here is the link to more info about this product: http://www.lushusa.com/Vanilla-Puff-Powder/03633,en_US,pd.html#q=vanilla%2520puff&start=1

First, you use the strawberry massage bar where ever you wish (just massage it into your skin) and then you put the dusting powder over the part that you massaged to get rid of the greasy feeling.

I actually just massaged my arms with this duo while writing this post and fell in love all over again. it smells exactly like strawberries and cream. If you are a lover of strawberries, this is the perfect LUSH duo for you!

Tata for now!

Spa Time!

The LUSH Spa will be a life changer for most in New York and Philadelphia. Fresh, handmade treatments personalized for your body type? Who would not enjoy or love that. LUSH announced recently in their LUSH Times: Fall 2013 that they will be opening a LUSH spa center soon. The process took a while to design because they created a truly uplifting atmosphere.

Inspiration for the spa came from Mark (co-founder) for his love of birdsongs and the Dorset countryside and coastline. In order to accomplish the birdsong aspect, Mark hired Simon Emmerson, a UK folk musician, to create a special track. The interior is remodeled after English spas with fresh flowers, various vintage pieces, and old-fashioned bookshelves. LUSH massage therapists have created seven treatments for this one of a kind North American spa.

The seven treatments are called: Validation, The Comforter?, Synaesthesia, The Good Hour, Tailor Made, The Sound Bath, The Spell. Not your usual spa treatment names, huh? I think that it is very smart of them to move out of the box when it came to designing each treatment in order to stand out from the million other spas in New York City or Philadelphia. It makes people read into what each treatment consists of. For instance, I bet after reading those seven names you had no idea what each one includes.

The treatment I would most like to try would be, The Comforter?, because it sounds very relaxing enjoyable, and practical. This treatment is an exfoliation treatment that consists of rolling body massage, hot chocolate body scrub, and a rose serum specially made for the spa. Another intriguing one would be the Synaesthesia, which LUSH claims to be the signature treatment. In this one, you pick how you want to feel out of 11 different emotions and then your therapist will help you deeply relax with a full body massage. This one sounds quite interesting actually. Do you think that they can really make you feel like one of those 11 emotions? This is a must. I hope that one day I will be able to experience the LUSH spa in New York City and see how LUSH related their store products and values into spa treatments.
