LUSH Spa Gift Set

Did you know that LUSH Cosmetics has a spa? A unique experience where sound, aroma, and emotion intertwine to stimulate a NEW you! I have been to the LUSH Spa only once on Lexington Ave. in New York City (see blog post here) and had The Comforter? treatment. This hour long massage included a hot chocolate body scrub following a rose-oil massage. This combination was phenomenal and greatly improved my dry, winter skin.

Lush Spa Gift LUSH just came out with a Spa Gift Set this year, which was featured in the Spring 2015 catalog. (email me if you want one, I have a thousand) This set includes six products, four of these are exclusive creations featured only in LUSH Spa treatments. A set of postcards that relate to each Spa treatment also comes with this set – an awesome surprise! Learn more about these Spa products:

  • Dreamtime Temple Balm (Spa Exclusive – can purchase at Spa locations): Dream Cream, Dream Time, and Dream Wash, Dream Toner Tab – if you adore these LUSH products you will LOVE this Temple Balm with soothing combinations of rich oils and jasmine absolute. Once cuddled up in bed, I like to apply this balm to my temples, lips, and any other area that needs some extra TLC. You can also purchase Temple Balm in the Whoosh scent.
  • Golden Slumbers Bath Bomb (Spa Exclusive): This bath bomb has made appearances in the LUSH Kitchen and other exclusive locations. With a strong lavender and chamomile scent, this bomb is perfect for a late night bath to relax your muscles and prepare you for a true ‘golden slumber.’ I just used this product and was not overjoyed. The shimmer was minimal and the scent was very, very STRONG! What do you think about Golden Slumbers?
  • Stepping Stone Foot Scrub: Have you done a LUSH foot treatment yet? Start out by using this Stone to exfoliate feet. Like Pop-Rocks, this green product fizzles on your feet while releasing hints of the ocean with citrus hues. Use Volcano Foot Mask and Feeling Feet Lotion afterwards for a full pedicure.
  • The Comforter? Body Scrub (Spa Exclusive): The main reason why I bought this kit! I loved, adored, and cherished my skin after getting The Comforter? This Body Scrub is very, very moisturizing! It is a hybrid between a massage bar and a exfoliating soap, since it hydrates to the max and exfoliates impurities.
  • Therapy Massage Bar: Hints of orange and lavender that act like a revitalizing therapy for your skin – and nose too! I have not tried Therapy yet (for some reason, it takes me decades to finish massage bars).
  • Energized Bubble Stone (Spa Exclusive): Attention LUSHies! Have you seen a Bubble Stone before? This cool invention is a bubble bar in a rock form. Just place under the faucet for a few minutes for calming bubbles. I added this to Golden Slumbers and slept like a baby!

This is a great Gift Set for LUSHies who have tried most LUSH products available year-round in store because of the product exclusiveness! Who can resist an at home spa day using cruelty free, all natural, environmentally friendly products? I sure can’t!

The ALL Purpose Ultrabalm

Lately I have been reaching for an old LUSH favorite of mine, Ultrabalm. This oily mixture hydrates and soothes any dry patch! Perfect for anyone who loves smooth skin.

ALL PURPOSE: Ultrabalm can literally be used anywhere. I use it on my lips before I apply an Emotional Brilliance lip color. I lather it onto dry patches. I use it behind my ears. LUSH also suggests using it on your heels and hair!

SMELL: If you love natural aromas, this is for you! Ultrabalm is basically fragrance free. It does not have any added perfume or ingredient to alter its color or smell.

TEXTURE: Oily, oily, and more oily! That is the only downfall about Ultrabalm. I assume the oiler = the better the soothe. I wish it was a bit more textured like a lotion but, it is a BALM!

ALL NATURAL: Rose wax, candelilla wax, and organic jojoba oil are the three natural ingredients in Ultrabalm. Yes folks, that is just THREE ingredients. Simplicity at its finest. This product is also Vegan.

My cousin visited the LUSH Spa in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am dying to hit up this Spa location. The only problem… what LUSH-urious treatment to get?!

My New Favorite LUSH Store: Lexington Ave.

Good morning LUSHies! It is surprisingly a very cold spring day here in NY! There is even frost on the ground… in April! I wanted to finish off my Easter posts and reviews with a haul from the LUSH Lexington Ave. store and Spa location in NYC! This has to be my new go-to LUSH store because I love the atmosphere, the Spa, and all of the lovely sales associates! Every time I am in the city I go to this LUSH and then get a gluten free cupcake from Sprinkles (they are so so so delicious)!

Last time I went to this LUSH store, I went with my friend Meghan and we got our Emotional Brilliance color readings done! They were literally spot on! The close up of the color reading was mine. So to get a color reading, you close your eyes and they spin the wheel. Then, you pick out the first three colors that catch your eyes. I got Dynamic (I already own eyeliner!), Control and Feeling Secure! These characteristics really describe me! Meghan also picked three characteristics that described her! The LUSHie sales associate who did our color readings was phenomenal! She really knew what she was talking about.

LUSH Lexington Haul: So after about a half our hanging out in the store, I finally purchased my goodies I picked out! I did not want to go to over board (my bath room is currently exploding with LUSH)! But I wanted to pick up a few products that I have not yet tried. I also got some bath goodies for my mom that are not included in this haul. I got her four Lord of Misrule (her favorite), Brightside Bubble Bar, and the Golden Egg.

  • Fresh Farmacy Cleanser
  • Control Eyeliner – I could not pass this up because it is a perfect adjective that describes my personality. It is also a lovely dark blue liner.
  • Seanik Solid Shampoo Bar
  • Psychedelic Summer Knot Wrap – this is the most COLORFUL knot wrap I have seen! This is actually my first knot wrap purchase. I have it hanging in my room!
  • Carrot Soap
    • AROMA: The smell of this soap is phenomenal. It smells great! To me, it reminds me of freshly peeled carrots and V8 juice (very weird, I know). I have enjoyed using this soap in the tub because it is preparing me for spring with a fresh aroma!
    • TEXTURE: I also really like this soap because it lathers fairly well. In fact, this is one of the best lathering soaps that I have gotten from LUSH in a while! I also think it has helped my dry skin a bit.
    • INGREDIENTS: The natural ingredients in this Limited Edition LUSH Easter product are carrot oil, rapeseed oil, bergamot oil, fair trade cocoa butter, and much more! This product is also vegan.
    • FLIMSY: This soap is not very sturdy. I noticed that the slices of it on display in the store were cracked at the top. When I unwrapped mine, it was also cracked above the bunny. I like to have my soap in one cohesive chunk… at least I had a tiny chunk to use at first!

This new LUSH store location in NYC is also receiving a lot of press! Here is just one Facebook post linking to an article about the British, LUSH Spa invasion! Check it out!

Have you been to this LUSH store in NYC? What is your favorite LUSH store location?

Easter Haul + LUSH Easter Store Displays

Hello all! The time you all have been waiting for… my Easter haul! The reviews are on the way. I wanted to try every Easter product and then do my review posts… because it is easier to upload the pictures! But here we are…! So this is my Easter haul and other goodies (I ordered the products online so I also snatched some retro goodies!). Here is the haul:

I plan on posting my reviews for all of the Easter bath products ASAP. They should all be up by this weekend! I am very excited to review them all! Now for some social media and LUSH store displays:

This is such a cute display in the new LUSH Spa and store location on Lexington Ave. in NYC! This is my go to LUSH store now… I love the sales associates, Spa, design, large space, and so on! It really is an awesome store. Check out their Facebook page! #lushlexington

This is also a great store location! This store is in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut! I have been here once and feel in love! I shopped for LUSH at midnight! It was a dream come true! This post was from their Facebook page, check them out!

What is your favorite LUSH store to shop at?!

Lexington NYC LUSH Haul

So I am in a good mood today and decided it was time for my next LUSH haul post! I am a huge LUSHie (if you cannot already tell by now). I spend most of my money on LUSH products. I really do not buy any other products… except for maybe nail polish! But this is it. Plus, I have a goal to review every LUSH year round product and recent holiday products on this blog! So here is one of my most recent major LUSH hauls from LUSH Lexington in NYC (I got all of thee products when I went to the Spa, you can see that blog post here):

  • King of Skin butter bar – I LOVE this product. This is actually a re-purchase for me. It is a shower must!
  • Sandstone soap – this is an awesome citrus exfoliating soap. I have already tried this product in the bath and have a new love.
  • Sikkim Girls Perfume – I have never tried one of LUSH’s Gorilla Perfumes. I thought it was about time! I got the smallest size in the Sikkim Girls scent. It also came in a really cute collectible jar. A review is on the way for this!
  • Demon in the Dark soap – I have never tried a full bar of this soap (only samples). I had to get a small sliver because it is retiring this year! Get it NOW if you like or want to try this product!
  • Tender is the Night massage bar – I have already done a review on this LUSH Valentines product. You can find that blog post here.
  • Eau Roma water toner – I just did a review about my Breath of Fresh Air toner. This is the next toner I decided to purchase from LUSH! Really excited to start using it.
  • Flying Fox shower gel – So this was an impulse… I recently just got into the LUSH shower gels. I just finished The Olive Branch (sad day)! But this is a great jasmine infused shower product! Cannot wait to review it!
  • Wise eye shadow – This is a product from the Emotional Brilliance line. Strangely, mine is not an eye shadow applicator but an eye liner one! And I love it… the LUSH sales lady talked me into it! I wear it quite often.
  • Aqua Mirabilis butter bar – This is very similar to the Buffy bar (which was my first LUSH product by the way). I like this… but it is supper nutty – you definitely have to like nuts to like this shower bar!
  • Lord Misrule bath bomb – I just had to get another one… I know this one was also in my last haul but I love it so much and it is retiring soon! I will be doing a review on this very soon!
  • Dream Time temple balm – The LUSH temple balms are only available at LUSH Spa locations. I was so happy to see this at the store! I got the Dreamtime scent which is very similar to the Dream Time bath melt. They also had Whoosh for the other scent.
  • Light Pink skin tint – This is a skin product from the Emotional Brilliance line. I actually am surprised that I cannot find this online at the LUSH USA store. I am in LOVE with this skin tint. I will do a review soon!

This was a super fun LUSH haul because I purchased many products which I normally would not try! Lots of newbies here! Let me know if you have tried any of these products?! What have you gotten in your recent LUSH haul?!

Lexington LUSH Spa Experience

Here is an exciting post for you die-hard LUSHies out there like me! On February first I treated my mother and I to the brand new LUSH Spa in NYC on Lexington Ave. and 61st Street:

It was a WONDERFUL experience. I had the time of my life! I got The Comforter treatment and my mother got The Good Hour:

  • The Comforter? – This was such a whimsical LUSH treatment. The first part, I had a hot chocolate body scrub on my arms, shoulders, legs, and back! It smelled so great… they need to sell a version of that in stores! It would do very well I think. Second, I had a rolling, rose-oil massage. It went very well with the chocolate aroma! My favorite part of the massage was getting my back done… at that point you are so relaxed! The music was also an extremely unique… my music was very Disney-like because the treatment was whimsical. It was loud at first but after a while you get used to it and actually is relaxing and soothing!
  • The Good Hour – I do not know the exact details about this treatment since my mom got it instead of me. But, she told me a lot about it! First, she had to pick out a massage bar (I believe all of the choices were available for purchase in LUSH stores and online). She ended up picking the Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar and you can find my blog post on it here. The Good Hour is a deep tissue massaged that is inspired by the sea and Irish Pub’s. My mom said the music was super interesting and very very unique! It was Irish Pub music! Even though the music was out there, my mom said it went along well with the massage and she never experienced anything like it!

The interior design and massage room was another experience! It was awesome! Just like everyone says, and old English Grandmothers house. I remember my massage therapist (who was awesome by the way) telling me how all the decorations are English antiques! Very cool. My mother is a huge interior design buff and LOVED the designs. There was also a ton of fresh flowers everywhere in the Spa!

The Comforter massage room was lighted pink and had a lovely star pattern that moved on the ceiling in a lime green. I actually looked online afterwards to see which one they used and I found it on Amazon here. They also had a wall full of different serums that each had an adjective labeled on them (and I looked… they all had different liquids!!).

Finally, at the end of the treatment we each got a special drink that was geared towards each session. I got a cotton candy rose oil drink in a martini glass! It was delicious. Surprisingly, my therapist asked me what it tasted like and I said LUSH! It was a true LUSH drink! My mother got some tea and biscuits from “the sailors” which she adored. I have a picture of me with my martini pictured below along with LUSH Spa social media posts:

  • The first post on the top right is from the LUSH Cosmetics Facebook page. This post is talking about the LUSH Spa is on its way to North America with a link to the LUSH Spa USA information page.
  • The bottom left post is from the @lushcosmetics Instagram. This one is talking about all the people who are preparing for the LUSH Spa in NYC! They have pictures of people writing the signs and making the products! This was taken at the NYC location.
  • The bottom right post is also from Instagram (@lushcosmetics). This picture is of the crowded shop below the LUSH Spa on Lexington Ave.! Wish I went to this… It looked like a blast!

Have y’all been to a LUSH Spa anywhere around the world?! Please share your experiences!

Tender is the Night Massage Bar

So this is the last product review I have for the LUSH Valentine’s 2014 collection. I have reviewed everything else except for the Close To You massage bar which I did not purchase. I will talk about that product a little bit toward the end of this post though! Massage bars are not a necessity for me… I like the idea of them and the feel of them! But I do not use them daily or even weekly sometimes… I still have my first massage bar ever which I purchased a few years back! Here is a picture of Tender is the Night:

TEXTURE: I love the soft essence of this massage bar. It is a lot more luxurious than ones I have tried from LUSH before! The minute you touch it you can feel how smooth and soft it is.

SMELL: I love the sweet, comforting aroma of this massage bar. It has a lot of vanilla in it! If you do not like vanilla scent this is not for you! It also has a hint of floral in it… I am not positive what that is though! Maybe jasmine?

FRESH INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients that make this massage bar are jasmine absolute, murmur butter, organic shea butter, fair trade vanilla absolute, ylang ylang oil and much more!

GREAT MELT: Once you put this on your body it immediately starts to soften and melt! I love it!!! I use this after I shower and massage it deep into my stomach, back, arms and legs! It makes me feel super smooth! For even more of a vanilla aroma and to lessen the grease, you can dust Vanilla Puff Powder all over you! It is a great pair.

Tender is the Night is probably one of my ultimate favorites from the LUSH massage bar collection. I did not get a chance to try the Close to You massage bar from the Valentine’s collection. To me, it reminded me to much of Snow Fairy which I still have from Christmas:

How many of the Valentine’s products have you tried this February?! Here is a beautiful shot of the Valentine’s Collection in the LUSH Lexington location in NYC:

LUSH X-Mas Angel Bath Bomb

Hello all! So I think this is near the end of my LUSH holiday bath products… I think I have one more bath bomb and a few soaps left! Let me know if I have not yet reviewed anything that you would be interested in from the past holiday collection! I am sure that  have reviewed most of it below though. For todays holiday past time, I will be reviewing a LUSH Retro Holiday collection item. This is the X-Mas Angel bath bomb!

Here are product photos:

  • Very unique – this was an interesting product. It was a special edition and only available for a short period of time because it was in the Retro and Holiday LUSH collections.
  • Lasts a while – this product was fizzing in my bath the entire time… I was shocked how long it took to fizz out! I am not sure what this would be classified as because it had different qualities than bath bombs. For example, it took a while to fizz and did not necessarily change my bath water at all.

  • Too Minty – I did not enjoy how minty and fresh this product was. I used this in my bath in the evening hours… I think this product is definitely for a morning bath! But who takes baths in the morning… I sure do not! The smell was a bit medical-ish… it smells too minty for me.

Overall, I do not think I would repurchase this Retro/Holiday LUSH product… It was a little off for me. I did not enjoy the aroma but did like how long it lasted in my tub! Also, I used a pink heel bath bead in the tub which made my water super moisturizing and hydrating! I like these because the whole thing melts in the tub leaving nothing behind. I will do a post all about the different bath beads I have.

Guess what?!?! Tomorrow I will be going to the LUSH Spa in NYC at the Lexington location…. I am SUPER EXCITED! I will be taking lots of pictures and probably will have another haul! Do any of y’all want to guess what treatment I will be getting?!

Lexington LUSH Spa Opening

Hello all! So this morning when I was scrolling through my Facebook feed, I saw this post from the page I follow, LUSH Cosmetics SHop and Spa NYC – Lexington Ave:

Screen Shot 2014-01-08 at 9.20.29 AM

This is pretty awesome! It’s a sneak peak of one of the walls in the spa! It also has information about when they are opening and how you can book. I am so so so excited to book an appointment here! I will for sure be getting The Comforter done first! For those of you who are not a huge LUSHie, LUSH has a few different spa locations around the world but none in the United States so far. So the one on Lexington Ave. and in Philadelphia will be the two firsts! I am positive they will do a great business!

The last time I was in the LUSH store in Herald Square in NYC, I picked up this flyer advertising the new spa:

This is a flyer about the size of a large index card that describes all the different fresh handmade treatments the LUSH Spa will be offering. I know it is hard to read so I will  describe each treatment:

  1. The Comforter? – This treatment is all about exfoliation. It has a hot chocolate scrub and a rose body serum involved. (This is the one I really want to try!)
  2. Synaesthesia – This is the signature spa treatment. You choose how you want to feel from 11 different emotional states. The treatment includes a choreographed massage to make you fully relax.
  3. Validation – This is a face massage that is supposed to increase your confidence. The treatment is supposed to help you feel naturally, truly beautiful.
  4. The Good Hour – This treatment is a full-body deep tissue massage. The main purpose of this massage is to release pain and tension in your muscles.
  5. The LUSH Sound Bath – This is a meditative treatment that helps you hear and listen with in yourself. The purpose of this bath is to help you mentally clear all the mess in your ming and listen to your body.
  6. Tailor Made – This is a tailored treatment, which means it is made just to suit your body! The purpose of this treatment is to make certain muscles in your body feel relaxed and free of pain. It focuses on the body part that need the most attention.
  7. The Spell – This is a foot treatment. It includes a foot soak, scrub and massage!

If any of these treatments sound appealing or you are just a huge LUSHie waiting to experience more LUSH, you can visit the Facebook page for the NYC-Lexington Ave. location at: It will be very exciting to see and experience any of these spa treatments! Let me know what treatment you are most excited to try!

P.S. – Has anyone noticed an error on the flyer yet? The bottom part where they talk about the Facebook pages for each of the U.S. locations is flipped! The NYC one has the Philly page and vice versa!

10 Secrets of LUSH told by a LUSHie!

In honor of the article from the LUSH Times: Fall 2013, “10 Things You Might Not Know About Perfume,” I decided to make a “10 Secrets of LUSH” list.

Secret #1: Make it fresh: LUSH makes the freshest facemasks in the world. All of the their facemasks are made by hand. For example, the Sacred Truth facemask is made with 13 sliced papayas, 7 ounces of fresh squeezed wheatgrass, 33 fresh farm eggs, and more!

Secret #2: LUSH composes every possible scrap from their kitchens. According to the LUSH Times, the Toronto facility produced 88,000 lbs. of composted materials. LUSH then takes all of this compost to produce electricity to put into the public grid.

Secret #3: On every product made, the compounders smiling face is put on the pot. This sticker is made for every compounder at LUSH headquarters with a cartoon look alike of them. Also included on this sticker is the day it was made and the day the product expires.

Secret #4: A bunch of the names on LUSH products are inspired by English rock artist. For instance, the bath bomb, Sex Bomb, is inspired by Tom Jones.

Secret #5: In the LUSH Times, there is an article about the right products to take when one goes camping. These products include, a solid deodorant, solid shampoo bar, dry shampoo, toothy tabs, and lip balm. Interestingly, LUSH solid shampoo bars save over 450,000 liters of water each year. (My favorite solid shampoo is Godiva because it smells of jasmine!)

Secret #6: Rose: rose is a wonderful product because it sooths dry skin and has a balancing effect on emotions.  LUSH uses many parts of the rose such as the petals, the oil, the wax, and rose absolute. Some LUSH products that are filled with roses are Ultrabalm, Lovely Jubblies, Ro’s Argan, Imogen Rose, and more.

Secret #7: The Cosmetic Deli: LUSH stores are designed after a deli. When one walks in a store they would notice the huge soap forms sliced and ordered by weight and the bath bombs are in boxes splayed out like vegetables in a super market.

Secret #8: LUSH created a campaign called Charity Pot in 2010. Charity Pot is a coco butter lotion, which smells of chocolate. But here is the catch, whenever one purchases a Charity Pot all of the proceeds go to various charities around the world.

Secret #9: LUSH Spa comes to North America this Fall in New York City and Philadelphia. The spa will include seven different treatments and the interior will be designed after an English salon.

Secret #10: LUSH is a true, sustainable company. They are fresh, naked, cruelty free, vegetarian, vegan and handmade.
