The Best Treat for Your Lips – Honey Trap

How is everyones Monday going? Mine is alright… but a bit dreary! Although, I did go out to lunch with my friend and did a little shopping! That always brightens up ones day! I also am looking forward to trying my last LUSH Easter product in my bath tonight! Be on the look out for those posts! Anyways, I have been meaning to do a review on one of my most used LUSH products, Honey Trap Lip Balm:

TEXTURE: This lip balm is incredibly moisturizing… I cannot imagine using any other lip product daily! I keep my container of this on my desk and at least put it on every 30 minutes. It is not sticky at all and great for parched, chapped lips.

NOT STICKY: Another plus about this lip balm is that it is NOT sticky! Let me repeat, NOT sticky! Since you have to use your finger to apply the product, it is important to note the consistency of the balm. It is very easy to rub in your fingers after you apply it.

AROMA: The smell of this LUSH product is mellow yet filled with a sweet, intriguing scent. The balm is packed with honey, sweet orange, and peppermint. It also does not taste terrible if you get a little of it in your mouth!

INGREDIENTS: This LUSH product is preservative free. The ingredients that make this lip balm a popular seller are: fair trade shea butter, almond oil, beeswax, extra virgin organic olive oil, dry whole milk, and so much more.

Have you tried this LUSH lip balm?! It is one of their most popular ones. Also, check out this old social media post with a picture of the LUSH Kitchen filling in some lip product pots:

Latte Lip Tint – The Subtle LUSH Lips

Hello all! It is one of my last days here in Houston, which is a bummer! I have been doing a lot of fun things like tanning, playing golf, eating so much TexMex, and just enjoying the sunny, warm weather in general!  I brought the LUSH lip tint, Latte, with me on this trip since I just wanted to have causal, chill makeup! So, I decided that it was time to review it! Here is a picture of my Latte:

SMELL: I really enjoy the smell of this lip tint. It does not smell terrible like some lip products from drug store brands. To me, this is a fresh, coffee-like scent (obviously)!

COLOR: This makes a perfect bronze color when applied. It is simple and casual. The color really makes a great sun-kissed look! I enjoy putting this on when I am running late, want to be relaxed or if I am just looking for more color to add to my face that is not red or pink!

MOISTURE: Latte is definitely more moisturizing and creamy than the other LUSH lip tint, It Started With a Kiss. It is easy to apply and does not stain your skin. You almost do not need to apply any type of lip balm before using this product!

INGREDIENTS: The ingredients in this LUSH lip tint are: almond oil, japan wax, organic jojoba oil, fair trade coffee, vanilla absolute and so so so so much more! This product is seriously jam packed with many different fresh and fairly traded LUSH ingredients! Although, this lip tint is not a vegan product from LUSH!

Overall, I recommend this lip product from LUSH because it is a great shade and it is practical! It is a simple every day rose color that moisturizes and hydrates! What do you think about Latte?!

LUSH Style Red Lips

With Valentine’s Day coming up, I think it is appropriate to do a post about my recent Emotional Brilliance purchase, Decisive! Emotional Brilliance is the makeup line from LUSH that has lip, eye and skin products. I love this line. I have a couple of items from it and every time I purchase something new, I LOVE the line even more.

Here are some images of my Decisive:

COLOR: this is a beautiful red shade. LUSH has a few different reds. According to LUSH this one is, “pin-up, vintage cherry red that is bold and vivid in color.” I think this is a great description because it is a bold red but also has a light shimmer to it! This color also goes well with my hair and skin tone! It is not to to TO red but more of a blue-ish red.

WEAR: the liquid lip stick lasts a long long long time. If you do not apply any balm before hand then it is almost like a lip tint! I always apply balm before hand because it makes the lip color more water-y and not to strong. LUSH suggests Ultrabalm (which is my staple LUSH product).

TASTE: this product has zero taste… there is nothing sickening or scrumptious in the lip color once applied! I would just watch out for your teeth. My lip color does spread and get onto my front teeth. If you are planning to wear this color all day, keep checking your teeth!

FRESH INGREDIENTS: since it is from LUSH of course it is cruelty free and composed of many fresh ingredients! The base for the whole Emotional Brilliance line is the balm, Ultrabalm (linked above). The fresh ingredients present in Decisive are: Jojoba Oil, Candelilla Wax and Rose Wax.

Have you used any lip colors from Emotional Brilliance?!

The Kiss Lip Gloss

I am proud of myself… I am actually getting the chance to review all of the LUSH Valentine’s products before they are no longer available! Today, I would like to review one of them: The Kiss Lip Gloss!! This is an awesome product and seriously different from LUSH lip tints (they sell these year round).

Here are some images of my The Kiss (I was so excited to get this product I had to try it on the minute I opened it… hence the mini smear in the lip gloss):

TEXTURE: this lip gloss is great. It feels very light and airy on your lips. It is not tooo tooo sticky. Which is a major plus for me since it does not have an applicator. I am able to put it on my lips with my fingers then smear my fingers together and the product disappears! It is so great. I wish LUSH had more lip glosses that were available all year round.

COLOR: your lips are a beautiful light pink with a hint of shimmer once you apply the product. Like I said above, it is super super super light definitely not as strong as the lip tints from LUSH.

SHORT LASTING: a major downfall for this product is the short life span on your lips. I have applied this about four times in an hour and 30 min. class… the product does not stay on your lips long enough! But I guess most lip glosses do not last forever like lip tints. The taste of the product is great. It is not fake at all and you can almost taste all the fresh products!

LIMITED EDITION: this product is only available in the LUSH Valentine’s collection which went into stores January 27 in the U.S. and should disappear after Valentine’s Day (February 14). So get it fast! I believe this lip gloss also came out in the 2013 Valentine’s Day collection.

FRESH INGREDIENTS: this lip gloss has an array of lip plumping butters in it. The fresh, preservative free ingredients in this product are: Fair Trade Shea Butter, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Agave Syrup, Cupuacu Butter, Almond Essential Oil, Guarana Seed Powder and much much more! If you want to learn more about any LUSH ingredients you can check out the LUSHopedia.

Have your lips experienced The Kiss yet?!
