#TBT – Christopher Kane for NARS

I first want to say that I am sorry for not posting during October. The past month has been hectic with school, clubs, and internships! It is almost like I have three jobs… which is a lot on one’s plate! I thought I would start Novembers blogs by showcasing my latest makeup obsession: Christopher Kane for NARS!

Christopher Kane for NARS

Christopher Kane is a London based designer with a passion for neon-neutrals. His “It Girl” is someone who prides on a fresh face with a punch of color; hence, this limited edition NARS collection is an array of soft and bright nudes with translucent finishes. Vogue titled this collection “Modern Electric” and refers to the “neoneutral” colors as wearable. With about nine pieces in this collection, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the two eyeshadows: Parallel Universe Duo and Outer Limits.

If I could describe these three shades in one word it would be mesmerizing. Each shade is so sheer and sparkly! I use these shadows on a daily basis to create iridescent, smokey eyes, and even use them as highlighters!

Did you get anything from the Christopher Kane for NARS collection? Unfortunately, these products are no longer available.

Luxury Bath Oils From Oxford St.

Bath Melts

LUSH Oxford St. Bath Melts Are Heaven On Earth!

Immediately upon walking in LUSH Oxford St. located on the busy streets of London, I spotted the table filled with mini-bath melts. These melts dive into the tub creating a bath of deep colors, intoxicating aromas, and layers of sparkle. Interestingly, LUSH calls these “Luxury Bath Oils” and I can see why – the oils from the melt are so strong, it soaks into your skin within seconds. I picked up 6 mini-melts for only about two pounds each (not a bad deal)!

  1. Furze – the famous Gorilla perfume (Retro) in a bath oil – hints of natural and sweet aromas from this melt will cure any case of the blues! A beautiful product to look at, Furze has a green outer layer with a fuchsia flower bud to top it off without creating any mess.
  2. Sun – a bath oil after the Sun perfume – the bronze (or should I say rose-gold) hue of this melt is enticing. It bleeds orange in the tub to assemble sun-like rays! The scent will remind you of summer days: going to the beach, hanging out at the lake, and soaking up the SUN!
  3. Shark Infested Custard – a sweet melt that is good enough to eat! I adore the aroma of this product since it reminds me of the anticipation of getting a vanilla custard covered with rainbow sprinkles (I can picture it in my head right now) – candy vanilla layered with rich cream. Unfortunately, the melt is hideous upon melting. It just turns into a yellow blob that does not emit enough oil for a filled tub, nor has any unique characteristics.
  4. I Am A Radiant Being – a pink star with a sparkly nucleus. This melt’s twin is Rose Jam since it creates a rosy bath with citrus hints. I enjoyed this product, but like Shark Infested Custard, was a bit disappointed in the overall “bath experience” – the glitter was none existent, while the product failed to melt into the warm water.
  5. Razzle Dazzle  – a hot pink fireball. This melt transforms your bath – the water turns various shades of pink with a glittery sheen. Meanwhile, notes of berries, citrus, and bergamot fill the bathroom, creating an environment filled with positive energy.
  6. Monsieur Gustav – a deep purple mixture of lavender and tobacco. Hands down, this was the most phenomenal Luxury Bath Oil. The smell was super relaxing, yet exotic with the generic lavender and rare tobacco. Even more impressive was the way it transformed plain bath water into a rich escape from the day – violet purple, fuchsia, and silver ribbons of oil swirl throughout the tub. Definitely recommend this product!

My Time In London, England

LUSH Oxford St. Revealed

Yes, it is true! I went to LUSH Oxford St. in London and basked in all its glory – a three floor LUSH filled with over 200 exclusive products and about 100 employees! I was speechless (no wonder I am having a tough time writing this post). My mother played photographer, while I journeyed around from station to station identifying all the exclusive goods! New face masks, hand creams, bath bombs, lotions, soaps, makeup, lip balm, and more… It was hard not to purchase them all! I went in thinking I would walk away with 5 products, instead, 14!!!

No Longer A Jo Malone Virgin

For those beauty insiders unaware of Jo Malone, it is a cologne empire based in London that specializes in ranges of classic scents. I purchased my first Jo in a Nordstrom on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. The sales associate was knowledgable on all accounts – he knew the notes of each scent, the categories of scents, and even unusual cologne pairings to create a new, foreign scent.

I went with the Wild Bluebell Cologne, a scent in the Light Floral category. The notes include bluebell, persimmon, and white musk. I was attracted to this scent immediately from the youthful yet sophisticated aroma. It has been my fragrance of choice, since the purchase earlier this spring.

The wonderful sales associate was sweet enough to stuff my exquisite bag with five other colognes: Peony & Blush Suede, Grapefruit, Orange Blossom, Blackberry & Bay, and English Pear & Freesia. Interestingly, if you mix two Jo Malone, you will get a third scent! These scents have complex tones and are very unique. I like the Grapefruit with the Wild Bluebell for summer – a partnership of citrus and florals.

Do you have a favorite Jo Malone Cologne?

Face Stockholm Nail Lacquer Collection

This post is for my nail polish followers! I did another post about Face sharing my holographic polishes from them. This post goes along with that one to show all my normal polishes from them! So lets get started! I have 9 polishes from them:

So I will just explain each Face polish from left to right (by the way… face just numbers their polishes and does not give them specific names):

  • #83 garnet – this is a beautiful deep red polish. I use this a lot in the winter time. It is a great cranberry color for any skin type! This polish is also super glossy.
  • #124 classic red – this is truly a classic red! I just had this polish on my toes and loved it! Very vintage and very red!
  • #67 hot mango – I got this one over the summer of course! It really is a hot color! Very bright and lovely.
  • #132 sparkle bronze pink – I LOVE this color. I wear this one a lot… I would say it definitely is one of my most popular polishes in my collection. It is the perfect simple bronze shade.
  • #144 shimmer pink – I love how light this polish is… it is the perfect color to wear if you hate to see chips!
  • #101 cotton candy – this is a perfect light pink color. I use this one a lot on my nails! It is really cotton candy like!
  • #107 creamy hyacinth – this is a very beautiful light purple. I like how it is not to dark nor light. It is a great medium shade!
  • #35 orchid taupe – this is a lovely gray shade with a hint of purple. Just a hint though! Love wearing this all year round.
  • #70 baby blue – I love this blue! This is the perfect, perfect PERFECT light blue color!

So overall I love Face Stockholm polishes! I found this english brand because they have a few stores near me (Rhinebeck and Hudson, New York). I love the simple look of the polishes. The brushes are also lone and thin (perfect for smaller nail shapes). The only problem is that the colors do settle easily – you can probably tell in the pictures!

Have you ever tried Face Stockholm polishes?

Butter London Heavy Medal Collection

The 2014 Winter Olympic games started tonight in Sochi, Russia! I love the Olympics… it is so nice to see all of these countries come together under one roof! Of course, I will be routing for my favorite snow boarder who has won 2 gold medals on the half pipe, Mr. Shaun White! But this is a post about nail polish here Andrea… I got to get myself back on track! I purchased the limited edition Butter London Heavy Medal Collection that was made for the 2012 Summer Olympics that of course, were in London!

Here is what the packaging looked like:

And my polishes:

  • Diamond Geezer – this is the silver polish… I LOVE this polish. I wear it a lot… way more than I thought I would. Silver is a beautiful polish color but can be kind of unusual for some people!
  • The Full Monty – this is the gold polish. I love how metallic it is. I see myself reaching for this polish when I am looking for a simple, yet trendy polish to wear! And like I said above… I will be sporting this GOLD polish the night Shaun White competes!
  • The Old Bill – last but definitely not bad at all… we have the bronze shade. This is a great shade! It is a beautiful rose gold color… but more bronze. I wear this one A LOT! Great for every month.

I loved getting this collection during the summer games. It was awesome to wear all the colors while the 2012 Olympics were happening! Unfortunately, they did not come out with this collection again for the 2014 Olympics… but I am sure someone is bound to be selling this Heavy Metal collection on Amazon or E-bay. ALSO, Butter London sells each of these polishes individually. Butter London has a lot of great nail polish shades! I have a few more from this brand that are not from this collection! I will be sure to post about them soon. Who will you be routing for in the 2014 Olympics?!

Square Hue 1.14 Collection

Hello all! Today I plan on resting, “netflixing,” and more resting! It has been one crazy week for me! An exciting moment of this month so far has been getting my Square Hue package! I was really excited to see what colors they came up with for the The Passport Collection, London!

Here is the box, polishes and swatches:

  • Buckingham (red polish) – This is a high gloss creme polish! When I opened the box, I was first a little disappointed because they have been sending and creating lots of cranberry shades. I actually have this color on my toes right now and LOVE it! It is a darker cranberry shade… and the more coats you put on, the more red it becomes!
  • Westminster (white polish) – This is again a high gloss creme. I have not yet tried out this polish! But it looks pretty simple, white! I am excited to use this lacquer and then put a fun sparkle color on top! The swatch does look like the polish has a bit of a yellow-ish shade to it!
  • West Elm (blue polish) – This is different from the others because it is a shimmer polish. This colors was on my nails all last week and I loved it! The polish does have a dark shimmer to it, maybe a bit light blue! But like the Buckingham, the more coats the darker. I loved this color because I used two coats and it was a dark navy with a high shimmer look. It is probably one of my favorites so far from Square Hue!

If you are wondering what Square Hue is or want to learn more about it, you can visit their website at: http://www.squarehue.com. It is basically a monthly nail polish order for just $14.99! That is a great great deal for three quality polishes! I have already posted a few different reviews over the months so you can check those out bellow! Tata for now!
