Pride: Satisfaction for an Achievement

Happy Fourth of July! Unfortunately, it is pouring rain in New York… the whole shabam – thunder, dark skies, rain, puddles, wind. While stuck inside, I am thinking about the pride we have for our country, our relationships, and our selves. It seems to be contagious and of course, social media proves it!

Pride Week: Holy rainbows – every organization that supports human rights celebrated Pride Week in someway. Many created store fronts decked out in color. Many created new products to showcase pride. Many created images just for social media and sharing. I saw quite a bit on my news feeds from my favorite companies – Baked by Melissa, Julep, LUSH Cosmetics, Teen Vogue.

4th of July: There have been many, many, many Fourth of July posts – from newscasters to the usual #lilly5x5. Here are two of my favorites that scream independence, USA, and patriotic shades. I adore how companies take their brand or product and turn it into something universally recognizable. The USA radiates pride on this day! A whole bunch of PRIDE!

Here is my recent go USA face showcasing my country pride as I stand right near the edge of Niagara Falls. What a thrilling experience! I would love to see y’all’s PRIDE faces!

#lily5x5 Madness

Look through my blog history and notice how many times I blog about #lilly5x5’s. I bet it is nearing 50. I LOVE #lilly5x5. Actually, I just LOVE Lilly Pulitzer in general. Their marketing, PR, social media, clothes, fashion, graphic design, and everything else gets my heart pumping!

I want to share my favorite #lilly5x5’s from the past few months. Hopefully, you enjoy them as much as I do!

Lilly Pulitzer posts new #lilly5x5’s 5 days a week around 5 o’clock (hence, 5×5). You can discover the archive of 5×5’s on their Pinterest board.

Lilly confirmed that EVERYONE has been wanting to get some #lilly5x5 images. The company created a book that features many of the images. They gave some away in a contest and as gifts when a customer purchased x amount. Do you like this idea?

Timely Social Media

There have been many holidays over the past few months from Easter to Earth Day! I wanted to post my favorite timely, newsworthy social media from various companies to showcase the factors of an intriguing holiday post. Discover now!

IMG_6490IMG_6489IMG_6491

Easter is a great holiday to incorporate branding with universal holiday themes. The #lily5x5 includes a vibrant Easter egg hunt in a watercolor medium. Lilly Pulitzer is known for their watercolor prints! Another example is Vineyard Vines since they attached Easter bunny ears to their logo and mascot, the pink whale! Vineyard Vines always makes their whale festive for various holidays! It is a unique and adorable branding idea. LUSH Cosmetics also posted a cute graphic featuring a product and an adorable pun (“Happy Easter from everybunny at LUSH”)!

Earth Day was a great opportunity for companies to showcase their commitment and passion for our planet. The @nailitmag Instagram account featured an Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange from Zoya. One could switch out their old polishes (bottle and all) for new ones. This is a great technique from Zoya to encourage reusing glass and disposing of lacquer properly. Go #ZoyaEarthDay! Lilly Pulitzer created another #lilly5x5 that reveals their love for Earth! Making the turtle shell a replica of Earth was a phenomenal idea!

IMG_6501IMG_6499

For those in the United States and maybe even around the world, you probably heard about the bombings from last year during the Boston Marathon. The city of Boston replied positively and strongly from this event by creating the idea of #BostonStrong. Vineyard Vines (a Northeastern company) created a campaign that highlighted their love for Boston with Wicked Strong merchandise. This was a fantastic move since it involved community relations and probably increased brand loyalty.

Timely Social Media

So my PR side is coming out on this post… I have collected a lot of different social media posts from various companies and outlets about events that have happened so far this year. These events are the Olympics, Presidents Day and Chinese New Years! I decided to do this post in chronological order! Here are the posts that are about Chinese New Years which happened on Jan. 31:

IMG_5230

This is a Facebook post from LUSH Cosmetics Willowbrook Mall! I love this post… it tell s you that it is Chinese New Year and that it is the year of the horse! The only thing that I do not enjoy about this post is that the picture is not related to LUSH… I think using pictures like this is a bit tacky. But then again, LUSH probably did not publish any Chinese New Year original pictures.

IMG_5229

This post is also from Facebook but this time it is a #lilly5x5 design from Lilly Pulitzer. I love the #lilly5x5 designs. I think this is a great idea and job by Lilly! I have talked about previous Lilly social media in posts below.

IMG_5226

Unlike the other two, this is a post from Instagram from the @shopncla account! I guess that they had a special, limited edition #CNY nail wrap design. If you are unaware, ncLA has great nail wrap designs! They are very very popular!

IMG_5402

So now onto the Olympics! I am sure everyone was aware that the Olympics happened at the beginning of February and just ended about a week ago. I thought that this was a great sponsored post on my Facebook account! NBC is the channel that airs the Olympics! What was your favorite Olympic moment?

IMG_5415

This post is also from Facebook. I follow Shaun White who had a countdown from 50 days until Sochi (#countdowntosochi)! I thought that this was a great picture of him winning four years ago. Only is he did that good this year… He is still one of my favorites! Who is your favorite athlete?

IMG_5430

Now this was another post from Facebook. I follow Vineyard Vines which is a Northeastern, preppy company! There logo is a pink whale! The company always dresses up the whale for special events! I guess this is the Olympic spirit whale! How cute?!

IMG_5439

For my last Olympic social media post, I wanted to do another #lilly5x5 from Instagram. I LOVE this #lilly5x5. It is a great take on the Olympic rings with a Lilly flare! If you cannot tell, the rings are painted with various leaves and flowers.

And finally, my last social media picture is from Lilly Pulitzer’s Facebook page. This post is again…. another #lilly5x5! I loved the look of this painting! It is very very patriotic! I also like this post because it is multi-functional. It connects Lilly’s Facebook to their Pinterest where you can pin the entire #lilly5x5 collection.

I love doing these social media posts from time to time. Let me know if you like reading them! If you are a fan of a companies social media presence share below! I would love to check them out!

Lilly Pulitzer Social Media Recents

Hello all! Sorry I did not post anything yesterday… Tuesdays are my long days. I have four classes and by the time I get home I am to tired to do anything except watch Netflix and chill out. Today I wanted to do another Social Media post about one of my favorite companies, Lilly Pulitzer! I have posted about Lilly’s social media plenty of other times in my past posts. Go check those out!

Post #1: This post is from Lilly Pulitzer’s Instagram account (@lillypulitzer). The caption for this picture is “Spotted in the print studio…” One reason why I LOVE Lilly is that they do not over use hashtags. This is really nice. I love this picture too because it fits the overall theme of the company which is artistic, colorful, floral, clean, fun, flirty and many many other words!

IMG_5075

Post #2: This is another post from Lilly’s Instagram account. This one is captioned “Stir crazy?! Here’s a SHORT story. #buymelilly” During the holidays, Lilly Pulitzer came out with a media campaign to improve awareness through social media with the hashtag, #buymelilly. They had so so so many posts for this! I love this post because currently I am battling a 10 degree day with a foot of snow on the ground! Give me those Lilly shorts baby!

IMG_5062

Post #3: Unlike the top two, this one is from Lilly Pulitzer’s Facebook Page (Lilly Pulitzer). This post is congratulating the new sorority print members to their collection! If you buy one of these new prints, you will get a special surprise! They also have a link to their Sorority Collection. I am not in a sorority in college but these are great patterns and if I was, I would be all over this!

IMG_5117

Post #4: Lilly just posted this one yesterday on their Facebook page. This picture is a part of the #lilly5x5 collection honoring Shirley Temple who passed away yesterday at the age of 85! I LOVE this post. It makes me smile so much! Shirley Temples were my staple drink as a child. You can find the entire #lilly5x5 collection on their Pinterest board.

#lilly5x5 – Social Media

So for all of my social media followers, my inner Communications college student is ready to talk social media! As you probably can tell from my older posts… I am a huge Lilly Pulitzer fan! They have a great media presence and are always using unique, creative tactics. My favorite campaign they have been doing is the #lilly5x5 (I linked their Pinterest account here of all their #lilly5x5’s). Every few days Lilly accounts will post a #lilly5x5 creates by one of their print designers. Here are three of my latest favorites:

Favorite #1: First off, I love the colors in this 5×5… they are awesome. Green with fuchsia is a great look. Putting the lemurs in the picture is also very interesting! Normally, when you think of Lilly Pulitzer you think of flowers, birds, sun, beach, etc. Not MONKEYS?! The caption for this picture says “It is Friday fur sure #lilly5x5.” Did anyone notice the pun?! Lilly always uses creative puns in their captions. This #lilly5x5 was found on their Instagram account (@lillypulitzer).

IMG_5002

Favorite #2: This one caught my eye with all the colors! It is so so so beautiful. These look like huge leaves in a rainforest that are very very verdant with light blue highlights. The caption for this #lilly5x5 is: “#Janus… a peace offering. #lilly5x5.” You might be thinking what #Janus is… and I was too! After doing some research, #Janus is a winter storm that just hit New York City! Haha wow cannot believe I didn’t know that! The storm was more coastal and was not big enough to reach my home town in upstate NY. I would rather be basking in this #lilly5x5 rather than shoveling through the snow.

IMG_5056

Favorite #3: This is a more subtle #lilly5x5. The caption for this one from the @lillypulitzer Instagram account is “We’re telling “nauti” tales in the Print Studio today… Happy Friday! #lilly5x5.” Again… another PUN! Lilly loves their wacky, creative puns. I love the anchor with the fish swimming around it. Anchors are a huge fad right now.

IMG_5110

So those are all the #lilly5x5’s I have for now to share! I love doing these types of posts and finding new companies that keep up with social media trends. What are your favorite companies to follow on social media?!

Lilly Pulitzer Social Media Extravaganza

So I wanted to celebrate my first day back at school studying PR with a social media post! Here is goes… guess what business I am going to talk about social media for… you guessed it, Lilly Pulitzer! I have done a few of these Lilly posts in the past… check them all out if you are interested!

Post #1: This post is from the @lillypulitzer Instagram. The caption says “#lillyatwaterside in Naples will be open early next week!” I thought this post was extra awesome because the picture is of a print artist painting the new store. This reminds me a lot of LUSH because they also have a special artist who comes in and paints the store!

IMG_3910

Post #2: Like the first one, this is another social media post on Facebook about the Waterside store opening! This post is also unique because it refers back to their Instagram account. I cannot wait to go to this new Lilly store!

IMG_3913

Post #3: This is a @lillypulitzer Instagram post. The caption for this picture sats “TOO much is never enough #buymelilly #ColorfulFriday.” The #buymelilly campaign launched around the holiday season so this picture was a part of that media campaign! It for sure is very colorful!

IMG_3991

Post #4: Again, this is from @lillypulitzer on Instagram. This post is a part of their #lilly5x5 collection from the Lilly Pulitzer Print and Design Studio! The caption says “Just add bubbles… #nationalbubblebathday #lilly5x5.” I love love love this post because it is related to baths… which remind me of LUSH! This is an awesome #lilly5x5!

IMG_4797

Post #5: Lastly, I wanted to share another #lilly5x5 from their Facebook account. The caption for this one says “Monday? Let’s take flight. #lilly5x5.” I love the butterfly print because of the white background with reds and pinks watercolors used for the butterflies! Plus, it is a great post to lift up your Monday!

IMG_4933

I love doing these social media posts! It is a lot of fun to find unique posts that relate to different social media campaigns. What company’s do you follow on social media?!

Holiday Lilly Pulitzer Social Media

So I know that this is a bit late… because it is not Christmas or the holiday season anymore! But, I thought these were awesome Lilly Pulitzer social media posts. I had to share them! Lilly Pulitzer is a designer with home roots in Palm Beach, Florida. I have talked about this brand more in detail in posts below. But you can find information and shop at their website.

Post #1: So this is a pretty unique Instagram post from Lilly Pulitzer because it shows fans #buymelilly posts. Lilly started a “selfie” campaign around Christmas called #buymelilly, where customers would take pictures on social media of them in their new Lilly purchases! Here are a few of the fan pictures in this post.

IMG_4178

Post #2: This was a Facebook post from Lilly showing all their Lilly stocking styles. This post is informational and basically an ad because to get these stockings, Lilly customers had to spend x amount during the holiday season. What stocking would you pick?! I would go for the green one in the front.

IMG_4280

Post #3: This is the famous pink Lilly Christmas tree post on Instagram. I love this tree and post because it truly exemplifies the brand of Lilly Pulitzer. It is a bright pink, has colorful ornaments on it, Lilly bags under the tree and you can tell it is in a Lilly office or store because of the colorful, Lilly printed couch in the background.

IMG_4394

Post #4: This is a #lilly5x5 posted on Facebook. I thought this was adorable! The water color picture is painted perfectly and the saying is pretty original, “Meet Me Under The Mistletoe.”

IMG_4502

Post #5: This is another #lilly5x5 post on Instagram. I thought that this one was also pretty adorable but it also represents the brand! You have the snow globe with painted with colorful water colors and inside the snow globe is a tropical setting! Most of the Lilly clothes are made for tropical vacations and locations! They are very very colorful!

IMG_4537

Post #6: Again, another #lilly5x5 on Instagram, but this one is another take on the “mistletoe” post. This time, the post represents the brand. The caption says, “Find me under the tropical mistletoe #lilly5x5.” The brand represents the tropics so this fits with the brand!

IMG_4253

I enjoy finding all these different social media posts and then blogging about them, let me know if you enjoy these posts! Happy Wednesday! Tata for now!
