Tender is the Night Massage Bar

So this is the last product review I have for the LUSH Valentine’s 2014 collection. I have reviewed everything else except for the Close To You massage bar which I did not purchase. I will talk about that product a little bit toward the end of this post though! Massage bars are not a necessity for me… I like the idea of them and the feel of them! But I do not use them daily or even weekly sometimes… I still have my first massage bar ever which I purchased a few years back! Here is a picture of Tender is the Night:

TEXTURE: I love the soft essence of this massage bar. It is a lot more luxurious than ones I have tried from LUSH before! The minute you touch it you can feel how smooth and soft it is.

SMELL: I love the sweet, comforting aroma of this massage bar. It has a lot of vanilla in it! If you do not like vanilla scent this is not for you! It also has a hint of floral in it… I am not positive what that is though! Maybe jasmine?

FRESH INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients that make this massage bar are jasmine absolute, murmur butter, organic shea butter, fair trade vanilla absolute, ylang ylang oil and much more!

GREAT MELT: Once you put this on your body it immediately starts to soften and melt! I love it!!! I use this after I shower and massage it deep into my stomach, back, arms and legs! It makes me feel super smooth! For even more of a vanilla aroma and to lessen the grease, you can dust Vanilla Puff Powder all over you! It is a great pair.

Tender is the Night is probably one of my ultimate favorites from the LUSH massage bar collection. I did not get a chance to try the Close to You massage bar from the Valentine’s collection. To me, it reminded me to much of Snow Fairy which I still have from Christmas:

LUSH Moisturizers

Hello folks! I hope everyone is having a great holiday season! I would like to talk about all of the LUSH moisturizers in honor of the dry winter and of course, my dry skin :(.

Here is a picture of my three moisturizers I am currently using:

IMG_3810

These moisturizers are:

  • Vanishing Cream – one of my all time favorites. I think if I was trapped on a desert island this would be one of the products I would take. Like the title says, this product vanishes all your impurities! I love it. The smell is also great. I think it smells a lot like hazel nuts. According to LUSH, this is the perfect moisturizer for combination and oily skin! It is also their lightest one. Give it a try! Here is a link to more information about Vanishing Cream: http://www.lushusa.com/Vanishing-Cream/02805,en_US,pd.html#start=1
  • Skin’s Shangri La – This moisturizer grew on me over time! I have to say though, it is now one of my all time favorites. It is thicker than vanishing cream and very moisturizing. This is the one I turn to when my skin is ultra dry. The smell is also very unique – to me, it smells like chocolate and grass. What a weird combination I know! According to LUSH this moisturizers has 27 shots of vodka in it for each batch! This does not come out in the smell! Also LUSH says this is their moisturizer for “mature faces” I am not quite sure what that means but this is one of my favorite ones to reach for when my skin is dry! For more information visit: http://www.lushusa.com/Skin%27s-Shangri-La/00221,en_US,pd.html#start=5
  • Celestial – I do not have to much to say about this moisturizer because I just got it a few weeks ago. It is a lot like Vanishing Cream though, very light and airy. I also like the smell for this one. It does not have a strong, odd aroma at all! Since I do not have a tremendous amount to say about this one, you can visit its LUSH page at: http://www.lushusa.com/Celestial/00407,en_US,pd.html#start=7

LUSH also has many other moisturizers and some of them I have tried here are the others:

  1. Gorgeous – I just wrote a post about this one below!
  2. Skin Drink – I have never tried this one but I am hoping to this winter season! It is perfect for dry skin and very very very moisturizing!
  3. Enzymion – I also have never tried this one – but it is for very oily skin! (P.S. the smell is absolutely phenomenal! orange – chocolate!)
  4. Cosmetic Lad – I am not a big fan of this one. It is another light one like Vanishing Cream, but the aroma is a little sickening for me!
  5. Imperialis – This has been a favorite for a while! I just finished this one about a month ago. The smell takes a while to get used to, but it really is the perfect one for combination skins!

I hope this post helped all you LUSHies decide what moisturizer best fits for you! Tata for now! Let me know if you are currently using any of them and how you like it!

Strawberries and Cream Massage Duo

When I went to the LUSH in the Danbury Connecticut mall, I was blown away at all the different smells and textures of the massage bars. Surprisingly, one of my first purchases from LUSH was the Shimmy Shimmy glitter massage bar. But since that first purchase, I have been massage bar non-existent. So I decided it was time.

The saleswomen in the store at Danbury was phenomenal. We raved for hours on end about all of our favorite LUSH products. She even asked me what LUSH product I would take to a desert island if I could only take one? My answer: Vanishing Cream.

But back to this massage duo. After smelling all of the options, I decided to go for this duo:

  1. Strawberry Feel Forever massage bar- which is a “creamy strawberry massage bar” with the featured ingredient of strawberries (duh). Here is the link to more info about the bar: http://www.lushusa.com/Strawberry-Feels-Forever/02883,en_US,pd.html#start=6
  2. Vanilla Puff dusting powder- which is a “luxurious, indulgent vanilla jasmine dusting powder” with the features ingredient of vanilla absolute (again, duh). Here is the link to more info about this product: http://www.lushusa.com/Vanilla-Puff-Powder/03633,en_US,pd.html#q=vanilla%2520puff&start=1

First, you use the strawberry massage bar where ever you wish (just massage it into your skin) and then you put the dusting powder over the part that you massaged to get rid of the greasy feeling.

I actually just massaged my arms with this duo while writing this post and fell in love all over again. it smells exactly like strawberries and cream. If you are a lover of strawberries, this is the perfect LUSH duo for you!

Tata for now!

LUSH Collection

Since you all can already by now, I am a serious LUSHie. I realized the other day that I had not posted any pictures yet of my collection.

medicine cabinet:

This is the LUSH shelf in my medicine cabinet. I have my facial cleanser, Angels on Bare Skin, Let The Good Time Roll, Ultraband & 9 to 5. For moisturizers I have Vanishing Cream and Cosmetic Lad. I also have Breath of Fresh Air toner, Grease Lightning spot treatment, Sparkle toothy tabs, Mint Julep lib scrub, Full of Grace face bar and finally, Ultrabalm (which is twins to vaseline). All of these products are phenomenal for a dry skin type with barely any acne.

LUSH drawer:

This drawer contains my LUSH lotions and dusting powders. The lotions are Charity Pot, Fair Trade Foot Lotion, Dream Cream & Lovely Jubilees. I also have the retro solid lotion, Schmuggle (which is a must). Other products in here are No Drought, Stepping Stone, Superbalm, King of Skin, Lustre, Coconut Deoderant, Ambrosia shaving cream, and Sea Salt spray. You can also tell that I have a bunch of samples! I am the sample queen 🙂

LUSH shower:

LUSH shower products are my favorite. I am a huge fan of them all! The ones in my collection to this day are Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner, Rehab shampoo (one of the best shampoos for damaged hair), Love Juicy, Daddy-O (great for blondes), Fair Trade Honey ( I just finished this bottle), BIG shampoo, and the solid shampoos are NEW! & Godiva. For shower gels I have, The Olive Branch, Grass, Rose Jam, Dirty, Rub Rub Rub, Sweetie Pie shower jelly and Rose Argon. I also have to retro products here, Gumback Express (banana and almond shower smoothie) & Ibiza Party shampoo.

I also have a lot of bath products! But since those are changing constantly, I decided I would do a review of my favorites for a future post.

Have you tried any of these products? Are there any products that I am missing out on?

My LUSH Top 5

LUSH recently came out with their Top 25 products. I found this information quite interesting since I am a die hard “LUSHie” and was curious to see if my favorite products were on the list. Some of the products actually did surprise me and on the other hand, I thought that: of course those products are included in the Top 25!

Here is the Top 25 List:  http://www.lushusa.com/Top-25-Best-Sellers/top25bestsellers,en_US,sc.html?gclid=CK3Z6NTUsroCFYSd4AodIz8AYw

I was a bit disappointed that they did not include the order of popularity in the Top 25. It would have been very interesting and beneficial to see the “number one” product of LUSH. If I had to pick a “number one” product out of this category, it would be a tie between Angles on Bare Skin and Godiva. I like Angles on Bare Skin because it is my daily cleanser. It helps to hydrate my face and balance out the oil. I absolutely love Godiva because of the jasmine smell. It is probably one of my favorite all time smells of LUSH.

Although this list includes some great products from LUSH, there are a few surprising products on this list that I believe are too unique for the daily consumer and therefore, make me question the list! For example, the solid shampoo bar, NEW!, is very unusual because of its strong cinnamon aroma. I actually have used this product and although it does wonders for your scalp, it does make your hair smell very fall like!

To honor the LUSH Top 25 product list, I thought that I would create my own Top 5 product list. Here it is…!

  1. Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb- This is by far my favorite bath bomb because of the smell and vibrant color. The color of this bath bomb is purple and gold, when it is used in the tub it turns the water a fuchsia color with gold glitter. The smell of this product is also phenomenal. A LUSH sales representative once told me that the LUSH factories in Canada smell exactly like this product and that LUSHies consider it the traditional scent.
  2. Vanishing Cream Moisturizer- This is my favorite moisturizer because of the results. It is light and airy, when I put it on my face I feel like nothing is on there. Also, the scent is very fresh and unique. This is by far one of the best face products compounded by LUSH.
  3. Ultrabalm- This product is a life savior. It helps to heal and hydrate dry skin. I use it everywhere, on my lips, ears, arms and even elbows. If there was one LUSH product I would bring to a deserted island it would be this one!
  4. Daddy-O Hair Shampoo- This shampoo is a need for blondes. The shampoo is a rich purple and smells amazing. It is supposed to help lighten and hydrate blonde locks and from personal experience, it does exactly that!
  5. Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar- This product was in the original Top 25 LUSH products and it is all because of the smell. I am a huge fan of jasmine and this is definitely one of the spot light products from LUSH that makes your hair smell like a flower garden after use.
