(Don’t) Look At Me Now

Don't Look At Me

Minty aroma with a touch of zest – Don’t Look At Me Fresh Face Mask is one of the newest non-holiday products to debut in LUSH North America. As with all LUSH face masks, this product is only available in-store and should be refrigerated and used before the expiration date.

Reminding me of a texture similar to the beloved Ocean Salt, this mask gently moisturizes and exfoliates the face. Plus, the refreshing scent makes it the perfect morning pick-me-up! I highly recommend this product for not so sensitive skin types, since the citrus ingredients mixed with the rice exfoliant could irritate the skin.

Face Mask Review: Cup O’ Coffee

Coffee Face Mask

Of course I was eager to try the latest face mask from LUSH Cosmetics called Cup O’ Coffee infused with ground coffee beans and cocoa. The strong coffee aroma relaxes, yet stimulates, your senses, which allows you to have a fresh start during the day. Surprisingly, I never put two and two together – coffee beans are used regularly in perfume stores to reestablish your sense of smell. Similarly, this masks reinvigorates your skin, while also acting as a light exfoliant.

I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a mask that not only transforms your skin, but also your mindset. What do you think about this product?

P.S. – Sorry for not posting last week – it has been absolutely crazy at school and my internship! I plan on posting again this week to catch up!

Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask

I promised this post a long time ago when I reviewed the Brazed Honey face mask! So here it is! Before Valentine’s Day LUSH conducted a face mask campaign in support of all their fresh ingredients! There was even a social media campaign called #LUSHfreshselfies!  The instructions for this social media event are pictured below in an Instagram post:

So this was my #LUSHfreshselfies I posted in the Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask:

Obviously, this face mask was super super fresh! I got this one because I returned 5 of my used pots. I have tried this mask along time ago and wanted to review it so I picked it up again! It works miracles and really soothes the skin. The smell is also pretty enjoyable compared to other face products. According to LUSH, this is a great mask to use when trying to prevent break outs! If you are a blueberry fan I suggest picking this one up. Here are a list of some of the fresh ingredients:

  • Chamomile Blue Oil
  • Calamine Powder
  • Irish Moss
  • Fresh Blueberries (of course)
  • Almond Oil
  • Rose Absolute
  • Sweet Wild Orange Oil

These are a few more social media posts that previewed during this campaign:

  1. The one on the left is from the LUSH Willowbrook Mall’s Facebook Page. I liked this one a lot because it shows the beautiful set up and design that are normally in LUSH stores for the face masks.
  2. The other one is from the LUSH Cosmetics Facebook page – this one is a contest post! Whoever can guess what face mask these rose petals are going in would win (I think they picked 10 winners)! I even commented on this one! Does anyone want to take a guess to which face mask this is?!

Mini LUSH Haul

Hello folks! I know that I am posting back to back! But I just have so so so so much I want to say about LUSH and their phenomenal, eco-friendly products! For my second post, I wanted to show you a recent mini LUSH haul of mine from the LUSH store in Herald Square, NYC.

Here is the haul:

IMG_4838IMG_4839

  • Skin’s Shangri La – This is a great facial moisturizer for the winter months. In fact, this is actually a repurchase. I love love loved it so much that once it was empty, I immediately went to LUSH to repurchase it again. Skin’s Shangri La is very very very hydrating and the smell is sooo great. The fresh ingredients in this product are jojoba oil, aloe very and Queen of Hungary water (mix of vodka and rosemary).
  • Latte – I have been wanting to get this lip tint for a while now… I have a lot of vibrant colors from LUSH for my lips but I do not have any subtle colors. Latte is subtle! It is a lovely brown with loads of shimmer in it. It does smell and taste a bit like a latte also!
  • Samples and more samples – I got two samples from this LUSH store, Lemony Flutter cuticle cream and Rehab shampoo. Actually, I have used both products and love them! Lemony Flutter is a great, moisturizing cuticle cream for those who LOVE the smell of lemons! Rehab shampoo is an all time favorite of mine. It truly takes your hair back to rehab! The smell is also another great aspect of Rehab!

Another part of this haul was a free face mask since I returned 5 empty pots! For the mask, I picked Catastrophe Cosmetic! The LUSH blueberry mask:

So this was a mini-mini LUSH haul for me! I normally go in and get every product that I either have not tried or love to much not to have again! Like always, I will be reviewing each of these products! Let me know what was in your latest LUSH haul! Tata for now!

More Mask Madness

So to continue the LUSH fresh face mask month, I wanted to talk about the toner tabs that you can purchase from LUSH!!! I have tried both, the Dream Steam and Tea Tree Toner Tab. But today, I wanted to review the Tea Tree Toner Tab and go over some more social media posts from LUSH about their fresh face masks!

Tea Tree Toner Tab:

IMG_3783

So this is about the size of a quarter and as thick as a small Reeses cup! So it is fairly small! These are only about $2 from LUSH! I love these… I use them mainly before I use a face mask! I put it in steaming water in my sink and put my head over it and a towel over my body and sit there to let the steam hit my face!! It feels great. The purpose of doing this is to open all your pores so the face mask can clean out more of your problem areas! I suggest these toner tabs if you have never tried one before! Dream Steam has flowers in it and is famously named after the lotion Dream Cream and the bath melt Dreamtime. This is a fairy simple toner tab and does not have any dried flowers or anything of that nature in it.

Media Posts:

This post is from Instagram. It takes about the ingredients in the BB Seaweed LUSH face mask! So these are rooses, almonds and seaweed which nourish and smooth the skin! I have tried this face mask once and it was a bit to seaweed-y for me! But this is a very popular LUSH mask! Let me know your thoughts on it.

This post was from LUSH’s Facebook account from the Willowbrook Mall location. This location was my home, local LUSH store for a few years! They quoted a quote about the Ayesha face mask. I actually have never ever tried this mask… I think it is meant for older people who are worried about wrinkles! It is a face tightening mask! But the fresh ingredients look great. Asparagus and Kiwi are my favorites.

So so much fresh face mask media and buying going on! LUSH is really really putting this media campaign into gear! I wanted to finish off this post with two holiday posts from LUSH that I completely forgot about during the holiday season! I hope everyone had a happy new year and great holiday! Here they are:

#LUSHfreshselfies + Cupcake Review

So with the lunch of the #LUSHfreshselfies campaign, I decided that it would be fit to do a few fresh face mask posts. So here goes my first one, Cupcake!!! Unfortunately, I did not get pictures of the product or this on my face (this was before I started blogging)! But I do have an image of the pot. I would like to focus this post though more on the social media aspect of the #LUSHfreshselfies campaign!

Cupcake Review:

IMG_3749

This is LUSH’s most popular face mask! Who couldn’t turn down this mint-chocolatey goodness?! This face mask is so popular, that it is sometimes a hard product to find! You need to catch the shipment of fresh masks early! So now for the review, this is a great mask! I highly suggest it for anyone who has oily or acne prone skin! I do not have this type of skin… mine is more dry than oily! But, this mask is a great treat for any skin type I believe! So the fresh ingredients in this mask are cocoa powder, spearmint leaves and a special, all natural mud from the mountains of Morocco. There really is no cons about this mask… it is a bit thick but that is expected with every mask made with fresh, fresh products! I found this video published by LUSH on Youtube very interesting about manufacturing this mask: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0DbSShpdsI !

Here are the campaign instructions! Basically, if you wish to enter, you take a picture of yourself with a LUSH face mask on and then you post it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag – #LUSHfreshselfies! The winner then gets a fresh party pack! What do you think this includes?! An array of fresh face masks?! Maybe it comes with a personal LUSH Spa massage therapists?! If you have a LUSH mask, you should join the race! (I will be posting my #LUSHfreshselfies picture in an upcoming face mask review, but you can see it on my Twitter, @AndreaPuskar, https://twitter.com/AndreaPuskar)

Along with this campaign, LUSH has been advertising and highlighting all their fresh face masks! I got this email a few days ago that kind of reviews how they make their masks, fresh, chopped, and then blended! What cool graphics for this layout or step by step making. They also have this on their U.S. homepage through the scroll bar!

IMG_4892

And like always (with most media campaigns), they followed up with a Facebook post! This was posted a few days ago and basically goes over where, how, why, and when the fresh face masks are made! This post also reviews some of the fresh ingredients one can find in a LUSH mask! Can anyone guess what mask the compounder is making in the picture?! I will give you a hint… it looks like spearmint leaves 😉

So.. to conclude, as a PR major at Marist college and an insane LUSHie… I always am on the look out for new media campaign that help to bring awareness around a certain product! Share your #LUSHfreshselfies with me! I am interested to see what face mask everyone loves! Tata for now!

5 Pots For 1 Free Mask

Recently I have been going to LUSH stores A LOT. At least more than I do once my semester starts. Each time I have been returning around 5-6 empty black pots for a free face mask! LUSH started this system to use pots that are post customer recycled plastic! So when you return pots, they recycle and reuse them.

Here are all the LUSH fresh face masks you can chose from (the picture is a bit small, I know):

Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 1.43.45 PM

  1. Sacred Truth
  2. Love Lettuce
  3. Catastrophe Cosmetic
  4. Cupcake
  5. Brazed Honey
  6. BB Seaweed
  7. Oatfix
  8. Cosmetic Warrior
  9. Ayesha

I have tried a few of the LUSh face masks. Some of my favorites are Cupcake, Brazed Honey and Love Lettuce. I actually have gotten 3 of the masks with the return 5 pots for free mask deal recently. The three I picked out were Brazed Honey, Cupcake and Catastrophe Cosmetic.

  • Brazed Honey – I think this is the most gentle and simple face mask that LUSH offers. The smell is not to strong and the texture is smooth. The fresh ingredients in this mask are eggs, honey, lime oil, ground almonds, Kaolin clay and probably much much more.
  • Cupcake – This is definitely one of the most popular masks. It is sometimes hard to find this one in stock at stores. This is for skin that is more acne prone. The fresh ingredients in this mask are cocoa, mint, vanilla absolute, spearmint oil, Rhassoul mud and much more. When using this mask, you feel like your spreading mint chocolate icing all over your face!
  • Catastrophe Cosmetic – This is another popular face mask from LUSH. This one is especially nice in the summer months. The fresh ingredients in this mask are blueberries, calamine, rose absolute, chamomile blue oil and more. This mask is especially made for people with sensitive skin.

Soon, I will be reviewing all three of the detailed masks above. If you would like to purchase a mask or return your pots for one, you cannot order them online but only find them in stores. This is because the masks are made super fresh and have an expiration date about two-three weeks after they are bought. Also, you should keep your mask in the fridge to make sure it stays nice and fresh!
