Hydro Boost Water Gel Review

This week calls for two blog posts (since I missed posting last week)! I decided to finally publish my review of the media-loved + cherished Neutrogena Hydro Boost! This water-based, oil-free moisturizer transforms dry skin into a plump, hydrated complexion. It is also non-comedogenic meaning the formula will not back-up pores and contains hyaluronic acid that repairs damaged skin cells. I was a bit hesitant to purchase a drug-store moisturizer for around $20… it was a risk (but well worth-it)!

I purchased this product in the morning before work after seeing positive reviews upon loving reviews. I was having a skin emergency: dryness, redness, and tightness. My normal moisturizer was not cutting it, I needed an extra BOOST (get it?).

When applying to my face, I immediately noticed the fresh scent and spongey-blue cream. The formula soaks into the skin well, hydrating it quickly! My skin thanked me because within an hour, the blotches dissipated and redness disappeared. I was left with a natural glow that paired well with my natural makeup!

Have you tried this product? Do you think it lives up to all of the hype?

Banana Moon Soap

Attention All LUSHies – the Banana Moon Retro Soap review is here! Who loves bananas? This soap is packed with fresh bananas and works miracles on dry skin. Check out the review now and see if you’re bananas for this soap!

AROMA: This product screams bananas. There is nothing to it… just bananas! If you are not a banana fan, it takes a while to get used too.

DRY SKIN: LUSH claims this product is one of their most moisturizing soaps. It works wonders on people who suffer from dry skin. I have dry skin and have not noticed this soap helping it. I will use it more this week and comment below on the results!

EXFOLIATION: I was surprised when I started using this soap because it has some odd exfoliating feature. It does not mention on the LUSH website that it exfoliates. The soap has crushed black flakes in it! Banana Moon makes for a harsh exfoliation.

COMBO: Pair Banana Moon with Gumback Express to get the full banana experience! Gumback Express is a LUSH Retro Shower Smoothie. You can read my review here. After the shower or bath, rub your skin with Sympathy for the Skin to block in the moisture and add even more of a banana scent to your soft skin!

RETRO: This product is available in the LUSH Retro collection online. You cannot get Banana Moon in stores. If you are interested in this product, order it quick before they run out!

INGREDIENTS: Surprisingly, this LUSH soap is mainly composed of safe synthetics. The natural ingredients in Banana Moon are scarce. Some of the ingredients include fresh bananas, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, and organic yogurt. This product is not vegan.

I enjoy this soap because it is unique and very fruity from the other LUSH soaps. Oh, and how many times did I write banana in this post?!

LUSH Moisturizers

Hello folks! I hope everyone is having a great holiday season! I would like to talk about all of the LUSH moisturizers in honor of the dry winter and of course, my dry skin :(.

Here is a picture of my three moisturizers I am currently using:

These moisturizers are:

  • Vanishing Cream – one of my all time favorites. I think if I was trapped on a desert island this would be one of the products I would take. Like the title says, this product vanishes all your impurities! I love it. The smell is also great. I think it smells a lot like hazel nuts. According to LUSH, this is the perfect moisturizer for combination and oily skin! It is also their lightest one. Give it a try! Here is a link to more information about Vanishing Cream: http://www.lushusa.com/Vanishing-Cream/02805,en_US,pd.html#start=1
  • Skin’s Shangri La – This moisturizer grew on me over time! I have to say though, it is now one of my all time favorites. It is thicker than vanishing cream and very moisturizing. This is the one I turn to when my skin is ultra dry. The smell is also very unique – to me, it smells like chocolate and grass. What a weird combination I know! According to LUSH this moisturizers has 27 shots of vodka in it for each batch! This does not come out in the smell! Also LUSH says this is their moisturizer for “mature faces” I am not quite sure what that means but this is one of my favorite ones to reach for when my skin is dry! • Celestial – I do not have to much to say about this moisturizer because I just got it a few weeks ago. It is a lot like Vanishing Cream though, very light and airy. I also like the smell for this one. It does not have a strong, odd aroma at all! Since I do not have a tremendous amount to say about this one, you can visit its LUSH page at: http://www.lushusa.com/Celestial/00407,en_US,pd.html#start=7

LUSH also has many other moisturizers and some of them I have tried here are the others:

  1. Gorgeous – I just wrote a post about this one below!
  2. Skin Drink – I have never tried this one but I am hoping to this winter season! It is perfect for dry skin and very very very moisturizing!
  3. Enzymion – I also have never tried this one – but it is for very oily skin! (P.S. the smell is absolutely phenomenal! orange – chocolate!)
  4. Cosmetic Lad – I am not a big fan of this one. It is another light one like Vanishing Cream, but the aroma is a little sickening for me!
  5. Imperialis – This has been a favorite for a while! I just finished this one about a month ago. The smell takes a while to get used to, but it really is the perfect one for combination skins!

I hope this post helped all you LUSHies decide what moisturizer best fits for you! Tata for now! Let me know if you are currently using any of them and how you like it!

In The Nude Bath Trio

With the start of the dry and cold winter air, I decided to celebrate the beginning of this season with a special bath trio! Recently I purchased the Retro, In The Nude bath melt because according to LUSH, it is used “for dry, sore or irritated skin.” I have an obsession with bath melts and thought that this one would be very beneficial for the winter months.

Here is the link to In The Nude: http://www.lushusa.com/In-The-Nude/02160,en_US,pd.html#q=In%2520The%2520Nude&start=1

Besides In The Nude, the trio was:

  1.  In The Nude bath melt
  2. Lavender bath confetti
  3. Tulip bubble stick

I purchased the lavender confetti at a store in Rhinebeck, NY called Merriweathers. If you are not from the NY area, I am sure that you would not have a problem at all finding confetti online.

The other product I used in the bath was the Tulip bubble bar on a stick from the LUSH Easter collection. LUSH is not selling this product anymore but they have the Magic Wand bubble bar stick in their Christmas collection, which I am sure is the same. For this product, you put it under the faucet and then all of the bubbles start to form as the tub fills up.

I really enjoyed this bath trio. The water was extra hydrating and soothing from the In The Nude bath melt. The Tulip bubble stick also added all of the bubbles and added the smell one of my favorite LUH products, Yuzu and Cocoa bubble bar. Finally, the bath confetti added a bit of fun and made the tub look pretty.
