My New Favorite LUSH Store: Lexington Ave.

Good morning LUSHies! It is surprisingly a very cold spring day here in NY! There is even frost on the ground… in April! I wanted to finish off my Easter posts and reviews with a haul from the LUSH Lexington Ave. store and Spa location in NYC! This has to be my new go-to LUSH store because I love the atmosphere, the Spa, and all of the lovely sales associates! Every time I am in the city I go to this LUSH and then get a gluten free cupcake from Sprinkles (they are so so so delicious)!

Last time I went to this LUSH store, I went with my friend Meghan and we got our Emotional Brilliance color readings done! They were literally spot on! The close up of the color reading was mine. So to get a color reading, you close your eyes and they spin the wheel. Then, you pick out the first three colors that catch your eyes. I got Dynamic (I already own eyeliner!), Control and Feeling Secure! These characteristics really describe me! Meghan also picked three characteristics that described her! The LUSHie sales associate who did our color readings was phenomenal! She really knew what she was talking about.

LUSH Lexington Haul: So after about a half our hanging out in the store, I finally purchased my goodies I picked out! I did not want to go to over board (my bath room is currently exploding with LUSH)! But I wanted to pick up a few products that I have not yet tried. I also got some bath goodies for my mom that are not included in this haul. I got her four Lord of Misrule (her favorite), Brightside Bubble Bar, and the Golden Egg.

  • Fresh Farmacy Cleanser
  • Control Eyeliner – I could not pass this up because it is a perfect adjective that describes my personality. It is also a lovely dark blue liner.
  • Seanik Solid Shampoo Bar
  • Psychedelic Summer Knot Wrap – this is the most COLORFUL knot wrap I have seen! This is actually my first knot wrap purchase. I have it hanging in my room!
  • Carrot Soap
    • AROMA: The smell of this soap is phenomenal. It smells great! To me, it reminds me of freshly peeled carrots and V8 juice (very weird, I know). I have enjoyed using this soap in the tub because it is preparing me for spring with a fresh aroma!
    • TEXTURE: I also really like this soap because it lathers fairly well. In fact, this is one of the best lathering soaps that I have gotten from LUSH in a while! I also think it has helped my dry skin a bit.
    • INGREDIENTS: The natural ingredients in this Limited Edition LUSH Easter product are carrot oil, rapeseed oil, bergamot oil, fair trade cocoa butter, and much more! This product is also vegan.
    • FLIMSY: This soap is not very sturdy. I noticed that the slices of it on display in the store were cracked at the top. When I unwrapped mine, it was also cracked above the bunny. I like to have my soap in one cohesive chunk… at least I had a tiny chunk to use at first!

This new LUSH store location in NYC is also receiving a lot of press! Here is just one Facebook post linking to an article about the British, LUSH Spa invasion! Check it out!

The New LUSH Easter Treat: Golden Egg

How many of you LUSHies out there have been listening to all of the rave about the new LUSH Easter product and LUSH invention called Golden Egg? LUSH claims that this bath product is a bath bomb melt, which means it fizzes up like a bath bomb but creates a rich, moisturizing, luxurious texture in your tub like a bath melt! I think it is quite unique… so I was super eager to try it! Here are some pictures of Golden Egg in the tub:

IMG_6101IMG_6102IMG_6104IMG_6106

BOMB/MELT: Like I mentioned in the intro paragraph, this is a bath bomb AND a bath melt! It fizzes when you drop it in the hot water like a bath bomb, but it also releases a ton of moisturizing oils! The bath water then becomes a interesting color and is super oily.

SMELL: LUSH claims this product smells like honey and toffee. I think it smell like honey yogurt! To me, it has an odd dairy aroma (please tell me I am not the only one). But honestly, the smell is not strong at all and is quite relaxing!

WATER COLOR: The bath water turns a highlighter yellow color, which is a tiny downfall. It is pretty unattractive! I wish it was a bit more gold and not as fluorescent. The gold shimmer does help this unattractive yellow and makes the water more gold-ish!

GLITTER: As you can probably tell from the product, it is packed with GLITTER! Like there is a ton of it! It gets everywhere.. all over your hands and once you drain your tub, it is coated with a gold shimmer! But a major plus is that the glitter does NOT stay on your body!

INGREDIENTS: Here are the fresh ingredients in this handmade Bath Bomb Melt: olive oil, fair trade organic cocoa butter, sweet wild orange oil, bergamot oil, cornflour, and much much more! This product is also vegan.

Overall, I actually enjoyed trying out this LUSH product because it is innovative, new and extremely unique! Maybe LUSH will come out with a yearly Bath Bomb Melt if this one is successful! Lets keep our fingers crossed! Now onto some social media about the Golden Egg:

IMG_6185IMG_6075

Both of these posts are from Facebook. The one on the left is from the LUSH Cosmetics Facebook page. This post is raving about Golden Egg (the first bath bomb melt)! The post on the right is from the LUSH Cosmetics Willowbrook Mall page! This post is showing a sneak peak of the LUSH Easter goodies that premiered in stores on March 24! This is a cool post because it highlights a ton of the Easter products!

P.S. – Have you entered the secret message from the LUSH Golden Egg hunt (only USA and Canada, I believe)! Do not miss out! Hurry, hurry because the entries end tonight! You could be one of the ten winners. The rules are here.

LUSH Bath Product Storage + Bubble Bar Reviews

Hello all! It is a gloomy day here in New York… I am excited though because I will be going to Houston, TX for a week on Saturday! I am excited to be in the 70 degree weather with unlimited sunshine! Today, I wanted to show y’all how I store my LUSH bath products and do two reviews over some of my latest bubble bar purchases. Here is my bath box:

IMG_3833IMG_3834

I got this container from Target. I like how it is sealed so the products can stay fresh. I also normally just leave them in their normal LUSH bags. But, I do put the large bubble bars like the Comforter in a plastic bag. I am surprised at how much can fit in this container… I think I use bath products so much since I take baths about every other day! I really love this set up and the box fits perfectly on a shelf in my bathroom. How do you organize your bath products?

For the first bubble bar review, I want to talk about A French Kiss:

IMG_3835

This is actually a half of this bubble bar! I like to split this one up and use it in my baths to add a bit of lavender. Yes, LAVENDER! That is what this LUSH product smells like! Lavender goodness. The ingredients in this product are – rosemary oil, cream of tartar, extra virgin coconut oil, and of course, lavender oil! This bath bomb also creates lots of bubbles! I would suggest this product for anyone who loves to take baths in the evening or someone who takes baths for relaxation purposes.

The next bubble bar I have to review is the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar:

IMG_3836

This is a really fun bubble bar because it is super sweet! Honestly, it smells like candy! I really enjoy taking a bath with this bubble bar when I need an uplifting! The products in this bubble bar that make it super sweet are – vanilla absolute, cream of tartar, almond oil and a cute, different colored candy flower on top! I suggest this bath for anyone who loves sweet aromas and also loves to relax in bubbles!

Have you tried any of these bubble bars yet?! Both of these are available year round in LUSH stores and online!

Light LUSH Facial Moisturizers

Hello all! Another busy day here trying to get my room all together plus an abundant about of homework! Today, I wanted to talk about two of my favorite LUSH facial moisturizers. These two are both super light and really, really work wonders! Here is the first moisturizer, Vanishing Cream:

IMG_3811

This is LUSH’s super light moisturizer for oily and combination skin types. I have pretty dry skin and this moisturizer does a great job eliminating oil from my t-zones. It does not irritate my dry skin at all. This is about my fourth pot of this stuff… It is my favorite moisturizer for the summer! Here are the fresh ingredients in this product: witch hazel, lavender and grape seed oil! I am sure there is a lot more in this cream but these are the main/featured ingredients. The smell is also very mellow compared to other LUSH moisturizers.

Here is the second light moisturizer from LUSH, Celestial:

IMG_3813

Unlike Vanishing Cream, this one is made for dry, sensitive skin types. I really like using this moisturizer. This is my first pot of this facial cream so I am not sure how well the long term effects are. Although, I really enjoy how light and airy this feels once you put it on! It is really a great daily moisturizer. Here are some of the featured ingredients in this product: vanilla water, almond milk and orchid extract! This moisturizer does not have a super strong smell at all. It smells like how it feels!

Have you tried any of these moisturizers?! What is your favorite summer cream?! As you can probably tell, I am so ready for summer and done with this snowy/freezing weather!

Enchanted Eye Cream

Another LUSH review coming at you…! Of course, I wanted to go along with the LUSH facial cleanser campaign for LUSH USA. I wanted to review the Enchanted Eye Cream from LUSH. Here is a picture of my lovely bottle:

IMG_3826

LIGHT: This eye cream is super light. It almost feels like you are putting NOTHING at all on your skin! I use ti under my eyes and on my eye lids! It feels cooling and very refreshing.

SMELL: Surprisingly, this LUSH product really does not have any distinct smell. At least when I use it I cannot smell anything strong! LUSH says that the product is a mixture of lavender and honey!

EFFECTS: I have not noticed any different effects on my eyes. I am not positive what the product is doing for me. When I bought it, the sales lady told me it was for dark circles but LUSH says it is for tightening up your skin near your eyes! Maybe it i tightening up my skin…. but I am not sure. Also, this is one of the first ever eye creams I have used!

FRESH INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients in this airy cream are cold pressed jojoba oil, lavender honey water, cold pressed almond oil and much much more! This is not a Vegan product from LUSH.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a light cream that is good for all skin types! Like I said above, I am not sure what this product is doing for me but I have been putting it on a few times a week since last Fall. Have you tried any eye creams that do something for you?!

Make-Up Remover Cleanser Products from LUSH

Hello all! To continue with the beautiful “Fresh Cleansers for Beautiful Bodies” era at LUSH… I thought it would only fit to do a duo review on two of my favorite make-up remover products from them! The two I am going to talk about are 9 To 5 and then Ultrabland! These are both considered cleansers at LUSH but for me… they are more make-up removers than my daily cleanse! Lets get started! Here is 9 To 5:

IMG_3827

This is a very creamy cleanser! I put mine on a cotton pad and then rub it over my eyes and the rest of my face! It does a PHENOMENAL job removing all make up pieces… even the sometimes hard to get liner areas! This is the only liquid cleanser LUSH sells. Originally, it was called “Orchid Oil Cleanser” because the ingredients in it are fresh dove orchid extract, almond oil and flower absolute! It is the perfect product to end a rough, long day because it soothes the skin and removes any grit! I suggest this for anyone who is a fan of liquid, oil cleansers! It is a must for me! And like most LUSH products, a little goes a LOOOOONG way!

Here is the other make-up remover cleanser, Ultrabland:

IMG_3814IMG_3815

I have had this product FOREVER. This one definitely goes a long way! I do not use this one as much as I use 9 To 5 because I am not the biggest fan of how oily it feels on my face. But… it is a huge cult product from LUSH! Many people love it… I guess you have to have the taste for it! The ingredients in this cleanser are many essential oils, iris flower extract, honey and beeswax. I think it is like 20% rose oil! So yes, this contributes to all the “oily-ness.” It can be used as a cleanser or a make up remover – I use mine as a make up remover about once a week! I have heard of people doing the “Ultraband Cleanse” which means that they just use this product on their face for a few months! It supposedly works miracles for acne prone skin!

Have you tried any of these two make-up remover/cleansers?! Share your thoughts below in the comments! Ohh and here was my balcony a few days ago… and now it even has more snow on it! Stay safe this winter y’all!

Angles On Bare Skin Facial Cleanser

So since Valentine’s Day/Week is officially over, LUSH USA has already changed their focus to something new! All of their banners and pop-ups on their website have all been changed to information about the perfect facial cleansers! Here are all the banners (curtsey of LUSH USA):

My all time favorite and one that I have been using for a few years now, is the Angels On Bare Skin facial cleanser:

IMG_3805

SMELL: I love the calm smell of this product. First, it takes a bit to get used to since it is not the usual facial cleanser! I think it is pretty calming also. I only use this one at night and the lavender in it works miracles.

EFFECTS: This is a great facial cleanser because it is calming and eliminates my red spots. I do not leave it on my face for a while like some LUSHies do… I just rub it on my face and then wash it off! It is also great because it has some exfoliating properties!

TEXTURE: A lot of people are pretty confused at first on how to use these amazing cleanser rolls from LUSH. You take a snitch of it in your hands, add some water and then break down the cleanser! Once it is pretty watery and chunky you rub it all over your face and body!

INGREDIENTS: Like every review… LUSH products all have super fresh ingredients! The ones in Angels On Bare Skin are: kaolin clay, chamomile blue oil, lavender oil, lavender flowers, ground almonds, rose absolute and much much more! All of the LUSH cleansers are also preservative free and of course, cruelty free.

SKIN TYPE: Angels On Bare Skin is super gentle… I think it would work for almost every skin type. I have pretty dry skin with some breakout areas and this is a miracle product for me! It keeps my skin clear, reduces my redness and exfoliates it! All in one shot. According to LUSH, it is a cleanser for everyone because “it leaves your skin fresh, soft and balanced!”

Angels On Bare Skin is such a great LUSH product. It is a staple for me. I love the way it calms and exfoliates my skin! This cleanser is available all year round… you can buy it based on how much you want like for LUSH soaps. Online, you can purchase 3.5 or 8.4 oz. size! It lasts a while too! What cleansers are you using from LUSH?!

Tender is the Night Massage Bar

So this is the last product review I have for the LUSH Valentine’s 2014 collection. I have reviewed everything else except for the Close To You massage bar which I did not purchase. I will talk about that product a little bit toward the end of this post though! Massage bars are not a necessity for me… I like the idea of them and the feel of them! But I do not use them daily or even weekly sometimes… I still have my first massage bar ever which I purchased a few years back! Here is a picture of Tender is the Night:

IMG_5287

TEXTURE: I love the soft essence of this massage bar. It is a lot more luxurious than ones I have tried from LUSH before! The minute you touch it you can feel how smooth and soft it is.

SMELL: I love the sweet, comforting aroma of this massage bar. It has a lot of vanilla in it! If you do not like vanilla scent this is not for you! It also has a hint of floral in it… I am not positive what that is though! Maybe jasmine?

FRESH INGREDIENTS: The fresh ingredients that make this massage bar are jasmine absolute, murmur butter, organic shea butter, fair trade vanilla absolute, ylang ylang oil and much more!

GREAT MELT: Once you put this on your body it immediately starts to soften and melt! I love it!!! I use this after I shower and massage it deep into my stomach, back, arms and legs! It makes me feel super smooth! For even more of a vanilla aroma and to lessen the grease, you can dust Vanilla Puff Powder all over you! It is a great pair.

Tender is the Night is probably one of my ultimate favorites from the LUSH massage bar collection. I did not get a chance to try the Close to You massage bar from the Valentine’s collection. To me, it reminded me to much of Snow Fairy which I still have from Christmas:

Feeling Younger Skin Tint

How many of y’all have tried any products from the Emotional Brilliance line?! Well I have really gotten into trying all the different liquid lipsticks, eye products and skin tints. Feeling Younger Skin Tint is a creamy, shiny tint that you can put any where on your face as a highlight! It adds lots of shimmer and helps to brighten your face.

Here are some pictures of my Feeling Younger:

IMG_4137IMG_4138IMG_4139

SHIMMER: This is a fabulous highlighter for all skin types. I use it around my eyebrows and under my eyes. I do not use it everyday… but I have started to use it a lot more in this snow apocalypse in New York! But it is great because the shimmer/luster does not stick out like a sore thumb. It mixes really well into your skin and brightens it!

VEGAN: This product is VEGAN! This probably makes all you Vegan lovers happy! I am shocked that makeup products can be Vegan now… I just started a gluten-free diet so I can feel some of the pain to find Vegan items! This skin tint and the Charisma skin color are the only Vegan ones in the Emotional Brilliance Skin line.

INGREDIENTS: Of course, all LUSH products have the freshest ingredients! Feeling Younger has Orange Flower Water, Oatmeal Decoction, Water, Cocoa Butter and Jojoba Oil. Remember, if you are wondering about any of the LUSH ingredients you can look them up in the LUSHopedia! It is a great dictionary filled with all the LUSH ingredients and their backgrounds (where they buy them, are they vegan, who makes it, what products they are in, etc.)

CAKEY: The only down side of Feeling Younger for me is that it is super “cakey” sometimes on my face… If you apply moisturizer, foundation and then this skin tint it does not work out well! According to LUSH, you should put on your moisturizer, Feeling Younger and then any other color supplements!

Overall, I really enjoy this skin tint! It was one of my first purchases from the Emotional Brilliance line! I love that I can use it anywhere on my face to brighten up my day! I suggest using this skin tint with any of the LUSH moisturizers/color supplements! This product is $18.95 and lasts forever! A little goes a long long way!

Have you tried any of the skin products from the Emotional Brilliance line?!

Mohegan Sun LUSH Haul

How many of you bloggers have ever been to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut?! Well it is a completely different world there. I went with my mom to a Luke Bryan concert there and had a BLAST! I even went shopping at LUSH after the concert… we walked out of the venue at 11:35 right to the LUSH entrance… and it was OPEN! I was baffled! Shopping at LUSH at midnight?! It was a dream come true. I dragged my mom into the store and got these goodies:

IMG_5143

  • Chocolate Whipstick lip balm – this stuff is AMAZING. Definitely one of my favorite LUSH products. Review to come very soon!
  • Skin Drink moisturizer – I have been looking for this product forever… they are always sold out in NYC. Excited to try this on my dry face!
  • Perspective lip stick – this is a great color. I have been wearing it daily since I purchased it! This liquid lip stick is a part of the Emotional Brilliance line.
  • Figs and Leaves soap – my goal is to try all of the year round LUSH soaps. I have not yet tried this one yet but it smells great!
  • Dragon’s Egg bath bomb – I have not purchased this bath bomb in a while! Really excited to do a review on this one!
  • Lord of Misrule bath bomb – this is an all time favorite of mine… I got this around Halloween and loved it so much I had to repurchase! Will definitely be doing a review on this before they are sold out! Remember, this bath bomb is only limited edition!
  • SMAPLE – Handy Gurugu hand cream – I am not a big hand cream person so I decided to sample this one before I buy the large pot if I like it!

So this was an awesome way to end an already great concert and day! I love LUSH and anytime I see one I have to go in and meet the sales associates and talk LUSH! Here is the beautiful store in the middle of the bustling casino with my mom in front and the lovely ladies who helped me out (sorry if the pictures are a bit blurry – my camera lens was dirty!):

IMG_5111IMG_5112

And… for those of you who are Luke Bryan fans… he threw a phenomenal concert! One of the best I have ever ever seen! Check him out! He really knew how to get a crowd excited:
